Let's All Laugh At... Let's all wonder what's going on at United?

Saw this on twitter. Maybe like 2-3 of these are pens. Maybe. United would be below Palace if these were correctly called. Jesus. VAR is only as fair as the human watching. Never going to be a feature that is good for the game unless the ref takes a look as well.

It's getting ridiculous. They have been the team with most penalties awarded two seasons in a row.

Regarding VAR, PL is the only league in the world where the referee doesn't even bother to go to the tv screen and check what the heck happened. That pretty much tell us what VAR is about here.

The problem I have, with the penalties is that the rules are being adjusted to fit in with VAR, and, VAR not to adjudicate on the rules as they stand.

We now have 2 hand ball rules in the penalty area, depending on wether you’re attacking or defending, are we now expected to accept that any contact in the area is a foul, but, only if it’s the defender making the contract? Surely the Pogba’s penalty should have checked to see who made the first contract and was either player’s contact any more than the other’s.

I also think that if the game on Friday had been played in October or November, then I think the second United penalty would not have been overruled, and would have been allowed! I don’t think after the farce at Villa 2 night previous, that they could accepted 2 such bad decisions straight after starting the season back up.

Not sure why but find Ole to be really weird and cringe since he’s been Man U boss.

Can‘t put my finger quite on why as all bosses try to be positive about their team bit with him...

Naming the players by silly (and frankly unprofessional) nicknames in pressers and interviews is the bit that really gets my goat.

He comes across as a fan first, and manager second.

it's the over emphasis on words...
"Pogba has been fantasTIKKKKK!"

I always find it weird when non-Brits have a strong accent as most learners just become neutral but Solskjaer seems like he forces the accent. Can't quite figure it out.

Yeah good point maybe that’s why he comes across a bit odd to me!

Solskjaer is such a smug prick isn’t he. Was like it as a player and hasn’t changed at all now.

Even though I find OGS to be a bit odd they do seem to be worryingly buying a lot better since Mourinho left them.

They plugged right back with Wan-Bissaka (who really we should have been busting our guts to get whilst we were in stronger position),

They’ve shored up centre back with Maguire, although if he gets injured they may be back to square one a bit as Linderloff may struggle without having him alongside him (Bailey is quality but seems to sadly be physically knackered).

They got Fernandes (someone else we should have been in heavily for in the summer) and he’s added a nice bit of extra quality to them.

The line-up against Brighton was pretty darn good, they still need to get another defensive midfielder I reckon and possibly another striker although they’re looking at Sancho heavily so maybe if he comes in will allow option of Rashford up top centrally again.

Their recruitment has been spot on since the summer.

Or maybe it just coincidence. You can’t keep spending the amount of money they do every window without picking up the odd good player.

Yeah, annoyingly they look like a very good side again. They've has shored up the defence, their attack looks lethal and Bruno has pretty much single handedly knitted together what previously looked a disjointed team.

At the start of the season I thought they were at the beginning of a downward spiral into oblivion, but if they can sign Sancho and improve in a couple of other key areas, they could be genuine title contenders again.

Bastards.

(Still reckon they won't win anything with Ole at the helm, though.)

Yep they’ve gone from signing a number of duds to their last three players - Wan-Bissa, Maguire and Fernandes - being top top quality and I’d love all three of them at spurs tbh.

Next up they’ll be looking at Sancho who is another we were sniffing around... :’-(

Sancho is a pretty obvious one for them, and fits in with the statement type signings they’ve made since Fergie left.

I imagine he’ll end up there sooner rather than later.

Also since for all the plaudits James got for adapting to PL level so quickly and doing a lot of good work in the autumn, he's definitely the most upgradeable in their front line. Sancho should fit like a glove in that role.

Yep Sancho on the right would fill what has been another problem spot that wasn’t addressed for a few summers.

De Gea

Wan-Bissaka Maguire Linderloff Shaw

McTominay Pogba

Sancho Fernandes Rashford

Martial

Thats a pretty tasty line-up.

They still need to think about centre forward cover (although as posted earlier Rashford could move up top and someone come in on left side).

Engine room may need need tweaking as absolutely no idea if Pogba is staying and if he does will he play how he should be.

Get the idea McTominay is quite highly rated and seems decent so he is definitely one to stay but they need at least another engine room midfielder,

Pereira seems pretty crap so will probably be moved on as he signed a new contract last summer on basis he would be one of their main players but he didn’t step up and now Fernandes has come in and done so much better. And further back Fred looks like is finally bedding in.

It is but even still I'm not sure it's anywhere near the level of Liverpool and Man City. They would need to sign a couple more players to get there imo.

They’ve unearthed a hell of a gem in Greenwood. Can’t believe the fuck up of missing out on Fernandez. Even though I love Lo Celso he hasn’t had the impact Fernandez has. I don’t understand why we didn’t get both when we clearly needed both. Why wasn’t the money that we were willing to spend on Dybala used on Fernandez instead when the Dybala deal collapsed due to image rights?

It was probably a case of once United came in they offered a hell of a lot more, and he'll make more money in sponsors and promotional stuff being a United player than a Spurs player. They may have been shit since Fergie left but they're still a much bigger draw than us.

De Gea has a bit of a mare again.

Must be getting worried Roy Keane is gonna run on pitch and angrily batter him soon!

When he first came to England he was shaky like this then became a lot more solid and consistent so odd he seems to have regressed again.

He’ll have Henderson breathing down his neck soon, although English goalkeepers in recent times also seem to start promising and then dramatically tail off - our own Robbo, Harte, Foster, Pickford has been a bit iffy in recent times...
