Ole proving how average he is for the 2nd time in a week by rotating the team against Chelsea which effectively killed the rythym they had and sent out the wrong message to the players, why would you do that? Similar against Southampton where he made subs and totally lost control of the match.

He gets some unfair criticism. He makes mistakes but let’s remember the terrible results we had a few weeks ago v Sheff Utd and Bournemouth. Let’s also remember this rookie manager could still qualify for Champions League, win the Europa League and finish above Jose Mourinho.

Well he's had longer to shape his team than Mourinho so there's no point comparing results, I could easily point out the inconsistent results they were suffering when he wasn't long into the role but that isn't my point.

My point is though he has a winning formula so why change it, it was such a strange decision too rotate for cup semi final especially when you have an already safe West Ham team in the league on Wednesday, if anything that was the match to rotate.

I don't rate him as a top coach, maybe he will improve but a better manager would have seen those games out.

I don't think he'll ever be the smartest tactician or be able to come up with the best strategy, he's got Phelan and others who help him on that side. He learnt that from Fergie of course.

He's actually been very good with the motivation aspect and reshaping his squad. From day one he was giving the younger players more confidence and demanding others cut out stupid stuff (Lingards antics). So he's got that right.

I think he slimmed down the squad well and brought in good young players.

However, I agree. I think he's got the capabilities of making a mess of subs and rotation. etc. Which will define him in the really big games.

I said before that I think United fans and pundits were getting well ahead of themselves. If Ole won the FA Cup or Europa League then you could say he's got a good chance of getting them fighting at the top again but if he continues to make a mess of rotation like yesterday he will soon have detractors.

I actually think West Ham will beat them now.

I don’t think he’s one of the great coaches, and will eventually be found out at United. Everything has gone his way so far, from Fernandes hitting the ground running, to VAR helping them at almost every opportunity.

It’ll be a big summer for United and they’ve got a few big decisions to make. Do the keep De Get or replace him? Do they spend big on a keeper or use Henderson? The board will want a marque signing but they already seem to have a decent squad.

If he gets one or two key decisions wrong it could go sour there quickly as it has done for the last few managers. They remind me of Liverpool in the nineties, a decent side, but not world beaters. The fans expect them to be winning leagues. They won’t accept performances like yesterday too often.

I suspect its related to securing the CL spot. Thats his target and he is maximising his chances.

I think he gets unfair praise tbh.

They've been average all season, comparable to their talent, in a weakened PL. Their results before lockdown were all over the place.

Finishing with a maximum of 68pts is a million miles away from where Man Utd want to be.

That was a damn awful side he put out against Chelsea.

Playing back three when I think he’s been a back four all season

Then up front completely unbalanced playing Rashford central who has been left side all season and James.

What a bellend.

FA cup semi final too, what is the matter with him.

He could easily have stuck with his usual system rather than confusong the players and if that desperate to rotate / rest players could have had Ighalo up top at expense of Bailey in team.

This would then have allowed him to play:

De Gea

Wan-Bissaka Maguire Lindelof Williams

Fred Matic

James Fernandes Rashford

Ighalo

Rather than trying to be too clever and just looking silly.

Much more balanced and allows Rashford to stay wide left and the shape of the team in general.

He played the back 3 because that was the same formation that beat them 3 times this season so I'll cut him a little slack, still IMO I don't think you need to change so drastically since the 4-2-3-1 was proving to be very effective and Chelsea at some stage were going to work it out anyway.

Since the restart UTD have played SUTD, us, Norwich, brighton, Bournemouth, villa, Southampton and palace.

Has OGS actually done anything to improve them? Or is it just an inform Fernandes and a nice run of games? OGS had a similar run of games when he first got the job. I really don't rate him as a manager and I don't think they will compete for a title with him in charge.

you spelt VAR wrong, even though you can get the word refereeing out of that selection....

On a par with playing one of your best attackers at left wing back in such a game.

I’ve posted here before I think they have made some cracking signings since OGS taken the job and all of the bar Ighalo (who was bought in specifically as cover) have pretty much gone straight into and improved their first eleven.

If they add Sancho to this in summer it will be another cracking player (although could be harsh potentially on Greenwood).

But you still go get that feeling OGS is out of his depth and they are succeeding despite him due to the quality of his players...

Shit me 8 goals in 14 games Fernandes got for Man U, what a massive fuck up as he was ours for the taking last summer... :-(
