Pfa really need to step up for its lower league members.
I wouldn't think so, the virus will need some time to incubate before it will show on a test. Anyone who has been in close contact with their positive tested players will need to isolate and get tested again in a few days. There is no way we could risk playing them now.
If PL clubs get covid in their first teams the season will quickly hit a brick wall, that is why the measures are so strict. Thank goodness Leyton agreed to the testing and we insisted on it.
But then why is Man City x Wolves taking place tonight with Gundogan news?
noone was in close contact with him.
noone was in close contact with him.
Perhaps because he was the only positive? Orient have several positives. City can still field a side safely. Orient cannot, plus the ground we were due to play at has been closed. Wolves' stadium is fine. But then why is Man City x Wolves taking place tonight with Gundogan news?
I don't think it's as simple as saying "you tested positive, you forfeit." I think it's more so the case this is a league cup match and the next round is already scheduled for next week with no time in-between or shortly after for a make-up. Each case would have to be looked at individually and ruled accordingly instead of having one rule for all games.Surely they’d just have to play the players who tested negatively? Otherwise you’re opening a can of worms of what’s to come, say we had 4 positive tests in November, teams can’t be forfeiting games constantly.

If a PL club suddenly had several positive tests, I expect their game would be called off too. But the regular testing makes that much, much less likely to happen. The lack of it in L2 also increases the likelihood that the infection has been around for some time and spread to other members of the squad, even if they're testing negative for now.I understand the ground situation and I guess without knowing how many have tested positive it’s hard to judge however I’m a bit confused as to why this would be forfeited because their teammates need to isolate but it isn’t same for when PL clubs start getting positives back.
I'd wager it's because the Prem clubs have such regular testing it isn't an issue. The lower league clubs have to deal with the unknown of how long they may have had it.I understand the ground situation and I guess without knowing how many have tested positive it’s hard to judge however I’m a bit confused as to why this would be forfeited because their teammates need to isolate but it isn’t same for when PL clubs start getting positives back.
He hasn’t been training?
so noone has been close to him during any training sessions?

I could well be wrong. It seems that the PL state only players testing positive will need to isolate. I guess the PL teams are testing so much that it is unlikely to spread quickly without warning, as has happened with Leyton. It will be interesting to see what happens with the match. But it seems pretty mad to allow our players anywhere near this team who will almost certainly have some players incubating the virus. But then why is Man City x Wolves taking place tonight with Gundogan news?
If it's not postponed or forfeited, I guess it would have to be switched to our stadium, and Orient would have to field a truly ridiculous team - either players who haven't been at the training ground or had any contact with any positive cases (schoolboys?), or if the EFL will allow it some hastily-assembled trialist and loanee special for the night.
