Olswang and Hutz mean nothing to me I have no understanding of these or this or whatever it is . Apparently if I feel this way I should feel ashamed therefore " I am shamed "
I feel you’ve taken my post very literally and not in the jovial way intended. I apologise if my post came off as genuinely damning of people no au fey with bit part Simpson’s characters.

Olswang have traditionally been Levy’s go to law firm, albeit usually for non contentious issues as far as I’m aware.

Just went to William Hill and the game is not even listed for betting.

Do they know something we don't? or just precautionary...

They can't price up a match not knowing what the situation is - if Orient are allowed to play and they field a team of under 17's their price will be a lot different than if they field a team of first teamers as its not confirmed how many cases.

Just to put a scenario ; if this match went ahead and was played and several of our players tested positive for covid virus even if it was because we played this match or other reasons . It would be impossible to say how they caught it but it would almost certainly put the powers that be in a position of liability as they could not prove that playing this match is why spurs players caught the virus and they should expect a shitstorm from Danny boy .

My guess is the Match is off imagine the lawsuit if Orient cliaimed it was safe we played the game in good faith
and our squad season was wiped out with covid

The only way I can see this game going ahead is if we field a side of players who we are willing, as are those players, to self isolate for ten days after the match.

I can’t see that side containing any likely first teamer, including players we’d want for the potential next round, or fringe player that we are hoping to loan or sell. Then it comes to youths, but I doubt we’d want to risk the PR storm of ‘evil Spurs doesn’t care about young players health’.

I don't believe Orient can claim it's safe, that's the decision of the FA / Public Health England so I don't believe they can assume any liability.

I'm not sure what's happening here but can we maybe stop it. Cheers.

Surprised there's no news or update about the game. 18 Leyton Orient players contracted covid-19...

I gave a valid opinion on the reason why we still don’t know whether the match will take place. It included an innocent joke which targeted nobody in particular. Buckley took it to heart. Some posters had a go at him. I clarified it. He still seems upset.

All in all, I feel rotten as a result, even though all I posted was:

I imagine that the delay is because of the clubs disagreeing on the next stage forward. Orient are saying ‘we want to play, here’s a team of players who tested negative who are available’ as they’re desperate for the money, but we’re saying ‘no way are we taking the risk with the health of our players, you need to forfeit as you didn’t send home players who’d been reported as ill and can’t conclusively prove that they’ve not transmitted it to that list of players you’ve provided’.

Off the back of that, it’ll be a conversation between lawyers, not chairmen, and because we can afford Olswang (I think they still do everything for us) and they can only afford Lionel Hutz (anyone who doesn’t get this reference, be ashamed), we’ll get our best case result.

I am not upset only in my stupidity of not knowing something I perhaps should have and I felt rather than upset I felt stupid .

No way this match can go ahead. Far too many cases and therefore higher chance of transmission throughout the club, youth team included.

Ahh but you're relying on common sense. The game shouldn't go ahead, but it is Spurs, they'll make us play if they can.

because it's spurs that's effected and not the beloved Man u or Liverpool. F### the spurs as far as the media and authorities are concerned.

Just would have thought the fact they had symptoms and didn't get tested would be massive headlines. Feels like it would be big news if any organisation did this let alone football.

Especially as the BBC will sensationalise anything. Someone littering a KFC wrapper was a top headline a few months ago FFS.

If you'd have just quoted BBLG's post, no one would've queried what you were ashamed of.
Only just seen the OP now and with context your post makes sense.

It’s not that bizarre that this hasn’t been called off yet - no need for either team to travel far, no fans - and also gives Orient time to get any further test results and figure out a way of playing the tie.
