We are delighted to announce that we have exercised the option to convert the loan of Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis Balompié to a permanent transfer. Gio has signed a contract with the Club until 2025.

The midfielder has produced impressive performances after establishing himself in the team following a hip injury which restricted his playing time in the early part of his loan at the Club.

A former player at Rosario Central and Paris Saint-Germain, Giovani has appeared in 20 games for us so far in all competitions and registered two goals, including netting the first FA Cup goal at our new stadium against Middlesbrough earlier this month.

The Club can also confirm the departure of Christian Eriksen after agreement was reached with FC Internazionale Milano for the Denmark international's transfer.
He made 305 appearances for us following his move from Ajax in August, 2013, and scored 69 times. We wish Christian well for the future.

Good luck and a big thank you to Christian Eriksen. Wasnt so long ago that we would have considered 20 mill for him to be the buy of the decade. Hope he can return to that player.

And welcome Lo Celso. Gonna be a star. Love him already.

Considering we paid around £11M for him, had him for 6.5 years (good service from him for 5-5.5 of those) and sold him for £17M, i think he has been one of the buys of the decade for sure.

All the best with the next stage of your career Christian. For the most part it’s been a bloody pleasure having you here and part of one of the best spurs teams I can remember

His performance has tailed off
for whatever reason
so we won't miss him
as much as we might have done.
All the best
and thanks.

Most goals
from outside of the area, (23

62 assists
2 more than De Bryne

73 chances created
2nd only to De Bryne

8 direct free kick goals
(2 more then Gylfi)

Ran further than anyone

His nemesis
corner kicks/ tackling
but we can't be good
at everything.

Hope he does well with Inter. Shame about the last year or so but he’s obviously had his career mapped out since he was at Ajax, if not before, and moving on at about this point was always going to happen.

To have got £17m when he could have gone for nothing in the summer isn’t a bad deal for us at all.

Is it just me or Ian he kind of unusual in his development. Or lack of development. It’s like he’s the same (very good) player at 27 as he was at 22. And you’d expect him to be the same level when he’s 32 as well.

I think he might be a robot.

Huh? He massively improved in his time with us.

Maybe it is just me then. Was he a better player in 2018 (ignoring the poor last 12 months) than he was in 2014?

Yeas his all round game has steadily improved year on year for example there's no way he's hitting a hat trick to send his country to the World Cup finals back then, if anything his mentality improved no end.

The thing I don't get about the Eriksen move is that some are slating Levy for not selling him at his maximum value .
When he said 18 months ago he was going to leave on a Bosman with Real or Barca his preferred destination Levy was helpless he could not do anything but allow him to go on a free . But from the moment he stated he wanted Real or Barca his form started to deteriorate and once Real and Barca made it clear they weren't interested his form to my eyes dropped even lower and although no where near his best was still probably better than we had . The thing that made him leave before his contract run out was I believe a large section of the supporters turned on him thru his perceived lack of commitment (my self I thought he was pants the last 8 months ) if he had not made the Milan move and carried on playing with his seemingly lack of effort /commitment/ and caring he would have had a nightmare with the fans .
A long winded way of saying Levy was not at fault for not selling Eriksen at his optimum value .
What is the most frustrating thing is that as poor as we have been a top form Eriksen would in my eyes seen us into the top four at this moment in time . And that and the champions league final I can't bring myself to forgive .
Incidentally he has not uttered one good word about spurs since his move just about sums up the reason for his bad form .
