Strange compared the hidden clue from Rebrab. Also anyone know why the new itk thread was immediately archived?

Conflicting as rebrab ‘hinted’ this could be an option.

True, but then doesn't make much sense being after Sessegnon (unless you subscribe to the theory that he's an AM. I think Poch wants him as a FB).

A back four of Sessegnon jan sanchez and foyth doesn’t fill me with much confidence. Digne would have been a class signing

18 or so months ago I reckon most would have said the same about a back four of an 18 year old midfielder playing fullback in Trent Alexander-Arnold, a recently relegated fullback in Andy Robertson, a previously unreliable Joel Matip, and then a good, but many thought over priced, Van Dijk. Now they're arguably the best back 4 (5 with Alisson) in world football.

Now, I'm not saying our group will definitely get to that level, but I dunno, sometimes expectations are just that.

If we go into the season with Davies and Sessegnon as the LBs and Foyth and KWP the RBs then we might as well not bother trying to progress

It would seem strange but we don't know this is the case yet. There was also some ITK (from Herc I think ) that we would be using a different formation next season so maybe we won't be employing very attacking FBs, in which case maybe Davies and Foyth will just be expected to defend, which they can do perfectly adequately.

They also have an excellent DM in front of them, and Robertson and TAA still look fairly iffy defensively. We don't have a Fabinho to sit in the hole which allows them to push forward so much. Robertson and TAA also have excellent delivery and are quick, things foyth and Davies don't have. 10+ assists each last season. This back 4 to 6 is miles from that.

Is anyone surprised? Everton don't want or need to sell and even if they did, he'd cost about 50 million. Was never happening in a million years.

They also have vvd, we have toby and jan but want one out. If it’s pochettino choice to have foyth and Sessegnon as his full backs then I’ll back him obviously he’s the man. They just worry me personally

It has to be remembered that the Goat isn't one specific source of ITK but rather an umbrella term for several. The Goat's bleats have been pretty accurate lately but there have been occasions in the past when this hasn't been the case. I guess the reliability depends on who is wearing the horns for this particular bleat.

If JJ or IGjedi had come out with this then we could pretty much have put it to bed but the Goat is just information passed on in good faith from an unnamed source. It's possibly still true though, which is a shame :(.

Never said they were close, just that the expectations weren't there when they first started playing together. As for the Fabinho thing, it entirely depends on the formation. They'll have a far greater license to go forward if we play a double pivot.

And back to Foyth, like I said last time, we don't know if he doesn't have a great delivery in his locker. What we do know is that he's a great passer and a good decision maker on the ball. We might find that he does have a good cross on him when he gets forward, and I think the discussion was about Sessegnon at LB, and we do know his delivery is outstanding.

I am not sure about this itk, I think there is too much silence from the well known itks and the original story was in the mirror over a month ago. Add rebrabs tip, he probably thought no one would pick it up.

At times we need to keep things quiet, if people (city) know he can be bought we could lose out hence the silence.

I think we are balls deep in for him. If everton accept it he is probably worth 30m+ and rose. Which sounds expensive, but i think it's worth it in todays market.

I think everton would be asking around 70m, rose worth about 25m we go in at rose and 25m, a bit negotiating later and bang 30-35m and rose, sorted.

Disagree. This isn’t to say we don’t need to improve at fullback/wingback - We do. I just think we’re improving other areas of the squad and the players will finally have a rest so I’m expecting some improved performances, especially from the English and Belgian lads. It would also be nice to see some areas of the squad improve organically and without much fanfare the way Liverpool were able to do with their wingbacks (TAA from the academy and Robertson for a cheap fee from a relegated team.)

Rose and Trippier were no world beaters last season so I don’t really think the replacements will be much of a downgrade if any. Especially considering how shocking Trippier was at times.

If we can get Lo Celso+Sessegnon in and Eriksen+Toby stays I think we’re undoubtedly a better unit than we were last season.

I understand the frustration that it appears that we are leaving holes in the lineup but that’s about the most I think anyone could hope for in transfers. I couldn’t imagine how we could have the budget to bring in bonafide fullback stars or how we’d gel in all the new players.
