Their new lad Rodri , looked class against the hammers. But he was only up against Wilshere who really looked past it.

1st game of the season, he looked very well but there have been players who shined in game one and fell off immediately after, i don't think it’s the case with Rodri but one can dream

Is the team that won three domestic titles last year and two the year before that (league titles in both years) going to lose the first game of the season at their home ground having won last week away by five clear goals?

It's a tall ask isn't it. They're at the point of Man U Peak Fergie era in my humble and worthless opinion.

Hope Poch is using this game to lay down a marker. A draw would be something.

Hopefully without Trippier playing, we may actually be able to get through 90 minutes without gifting them a goal.

Last season we lost 1 nil at home precisely because of Trippier’s fuck up.

In the away game we played well, but weren’t clinical enough. We do usually match up to City pretty well.

We still have Lloris. So hope he has a good game today.

All I’m hoping for is no fuck ups. Then I know we have a chance. Coys

We gave them a great game in the league last year, I am hopeful with Harry fit we can at least get a draw.

But today, they’d be facing the Ndomitable Ndombele and the Sizzling Sizzoko.

The games between us have always been tight and even in the close ones we’ve lost it’s been touch and go and if we had the rub of the green it could have gone the other way. I expect another tight game. We have to keep their MF quiet and stop De Bruyne slipping balls through for Sterling. Big game for Kyle. As long as Poch doesn’t go with the diamond or that suicidal high press he tried last season, we should be fine. Don’t give an early goal away and City will start to think it’s going to be a long hard game. I am going for a score draw.

Agree, but I think we'll be getting the diamond whether we like it or not. If we do, we need the 2 in MF to keep a bit wider than of late otherwise the flanks will be vulnerable. Really glad Sane is out. Also need Ndombele to bring his CL form with him.

Oh come on. We’re really going to lose our best defender, be left short at CB and deal with it in January or the summer when we are going to be down to 1 CB? Crazy if we do that. I’d be so angry.

We really cant just go a fucking week without some type of drama? Christ, Poch.

Can't find anywhere it says Vertonghen wasn't on the bus, and that article was just Jenas' opinion so it doesn't carry much weight.
