Apparently Jose threw down his notepad and applauded after Dele's bum heroics.

He also did a knee slide and was involved in time wasting at the end apparently.

Any photographic/video evidence appreciated ???

I've never heard of 'bum heroics'. Does it involve trombones?

I don't think we will see Hugo again. He has glaring weaknesses with distribution irrespective of whether he plays it long or short. Jose won't stand for that.

It wasn’t down to injuries that players stopped performing. Kane hasn’t been injured this season but yesterday was the first time we saw him play like the real Kane since Liverpool 4 - 1 at Wembley.

Alli has had injuries but again he’s been dog shit under Poch for two years, way before and after any injuries, yesterday he was MOM pretty much.

The reason Alderweireld got itchy feet is because of Poch by the way, you know that right?

Not only did the players stop trying for Poch, some were actively looking to leave because of him.

The player simply stopped responding to Poch, lost their faith in him and his tactics, and no longer believed he was the best man to lead us to success.

Please don’t blame injuries, and key players wanting out wasn’t an unfortunate problem that he faced not of his making, it was directly caused by him.

Toby was rejecting contract offers when things were good under Poch. Similarly Rose was making controversial remarks about his wages and the way the club goes about transfers but always made a point to praise his relationship with Poch. Poch didn't handle contracts.

And I'm not blaming injuries but for the record some of those injuries were impact injuries not muscle injuries. Kane's ankle problems have always come in game due to a horrible challenge with teams always nibbling against him anyway. And it's a fucking fact for anyone who knows about football that if you stand still for eighteen months as we did while everyone else tries to add improvement you're going to have a problem.

Look at City - someone walks into the City job tomorrow and they may think...two time defending champions, won 5 of the last 6 domestic trophies, it's ready made for success. Whereas Guardiola who works with these players everyday is talking about needing to refresh the squad despite all he's already spent.

The thing with Kane that muddies the water is that he got indulged. Do you remember the game vs Huddersfield three days before the Juventus second leg? Sonny was on a hattrick yet got subbed with around 25 minutes to go but Kane played the full game. That was the first time I've seen Sonny show some petulance as he took to the bench. The FA Cup SF vs Utd when he came back from injury. We battered Chelsea away with Son, Dele and Lamela up front just a week before. Kane rarely plays well when he comes straight back from injury. He may score a goal but his mobility takes time to get up to speed. Kane plays the full game of every game when he was remotely fit.

Then there was the whole "claiming a goal" bollocks which if it was another club's star player we'd be pissing ourselves.

And lastly of course the selection for the Champions League Final.

I think some players might have looked at the favouritism and felt a bit of a hump.

Fuck em, he's our best player and he plays when he wants.

Long ball worked against Wham as they were sloppy and nervous and we would often pick up the second ball.
But Kane is no Drogba - hoof it long to him and most competent defences are not troubled. He is out muscled and out jumped.
Kane is not a traditional striker - it's his strength and weakness. In the buildup, it has to be played to his feet.
MP worked this out last year and it's why we bought Llorente. I'm not sure why he was allowed to go.
Because Llorente was shite other than the Ajax games?

Dele was fantastic. Its what Dele is when he is at his best. Mourinho opened him and it up.
It will be interesting every game as long as Mourinho keeps control of himself and works the best out of each player

So what was he playing then? I am puzzled by the statement .
When we were in possession he basically played as an attacking midfielder or No.10. This is what we were like:

Kane

Son .............Alli ............... Lucas .......... Aurier

Dier Winks

Davies Alderweireld Sanchez
Rarely, if ever, did he play out wide on the right. In fact, the only time he stayed out wide was for a 5-10 minute period in the first half before we scored when he popped up on the left and Son went into his role. When he was attempting to defend he did so as part of a four, with Alli and Kane in front.

Even in the games he scored, he didn’t play well (other than domestic cup games against L1/L2 teams).
You can keep making incorrect comments, it won’t make any of them, original included, any less incorrect.

Llorente was hardly a resounding success, nor was he an unmitigated failure, he was sometimes good, sometimes poor, usually in between. Had he been used either more regularly or correctly we’d have probably seen more good than we did, but to reduce his two years with us to just two good matches is very harsh. As I remember it, no Llorente and we don’t even get out of the group stage last season.

Danny Murphy is right.

Mourinho succeeded today by going back to the formation and personnel that Pochettino used to play. That’s not a good reflection on Poch.

They’ve bought players (like Sissoko, NDombele) that don’t perfectly fit the old system. That changed the defensive security in front of the back 4 and took away Delle’s freedom to be the attacking force he used to be.

So ultimately it’s the recruitment that’s undone Poch. Whether or not these are his choices or players he’s had to incorporate we don’t know.

He could have just stuck to his old style though so maybe he’ll kick himself eventually.

So how have they gone from not pressing/closing down against Sheff Utd to doing the total opposite against West Ham in the space of 2 weeks?

They were not physically tired under Poch they were mentally tired, the tiredness was all in the head, we saw that when Kane played for England last week he was pressing and closing down.

There's no science to it really players just couldn't be arsed because they stopped responding to the manager, the belief had gone and were just going through the motions, now we're seeing a new manager bounce, players are trying to impress and the desire has come back.

Overtraining affects a person just as much mentally as it does physically.
Whether it was overtraining or something else I don't know but saying they just couldn't be arsed is a bit lazy IMO.

How would you describe this?

To me it looks just pure laziness, no desire, no pressing, no intensity...that is the very definition of not being bothered.

Funny how your two examples are two players that are known to be guys Poch wanted. Especially N'Dombele he was the main guy Poch wanted this summer afaik.
