Take JM’s comments in their entirety and not just certain bits and you’ll notice he wasn’t really slagging Ndombele off. He was being frank and honest, and it’s time Ndombele realizes this. Not that I expect world beating performances from him off the bat, but more intensity and effort would go a long way.

Compare GLC to TN and you’ll see why Mourinho expects more. GLC is everywhere on the pitch, calling for the ball, making runs, dictating the tempo and speed of the game, getting stuck in to regain possession, all the lovely things you’d want in a CM.

Is TN capable of this? Ofcourse he is, he is supremely talented. However the only thing missing is effort and intensity. Hopefully this lights a fire in his belly to step up in that regard. It worked for Shaw.

You mean with an agenda and using words like 'throw under the bus' ??

Sure you can post it.

Dave Tickner probably appreciates it too.

As someone that unashamedly admits to never wanting Mourinho and who will never accept him I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Maybe Mourinho isn’t the loser in all this. He got his point and got to make one. Maybe it’s Spurs who are the losers for being the canvas at which he currently flings his shit.”

You can’t tell me that’s not both balanced and funny

Seen a lot of posts slagging off Jose on the basis that he played 5 CBs, which totally ignores the injuries we're facing and the fact that yesterday's team was selected with a view to the Champions League on Tuesday. If Davies and Aurier had played rather than Jan and Tanganga it wouldn't have made any tactical difference, but Davies has evidently done his hamstring and Aurier was rested. For all intents and purposes it was a back three with wingbacks, not a Pulis-esque five CB setup.

It's fair enough to question the back three setup but again I think he was trying to rest key players. Lucas has been run into the ground and the first-choice midfield pairing (Winks and GLC) were both rotated. Trying to rest that many key players resulted in one fewer midfielders/attackers than we would normally play with. It didn't work and Jose changed it at half time, which is as early as he could have done without completely humiliating the players who were hooked, although I suppose he could have pushed Dier up into midfield earlier than he did.

Regardless, it's amazing to me how negative the general attitude toward him seems to be. Even on its best day this squad is incredibly unbalanced. Add to that the fact that we've got injuries all over the park, including to our best players, and the manager is stuck working with scraps.

There's plenty reason to be wary of him given the state he's left clubs in in the past, the worry that his tactics may be outdated, the amount of times he's fallen out with big players, etc. I understand the concerns. But he's in a terrible situation at the moment, through no fault of our own, and I can't help but feel that supporters are unduly feeding into the negativity rather than backing the manager (and team) through an injury crisis during which there shouldn't be any reasonable expectation of playing scintillating football or picking up three points every week.

I am surprised some are defending his line up. The way we set up was probably the worst set up i have ever seen.
If he wants to rest players, okay give him that. We could still easily have a more balanced side with one CB less and add Gedson or Sessegnon in midfield.

The back 5 means what we saw several several times: we are 1/2 players short in attack/ midfield that allows every opponent on the planet to come close to our defensive third time and time again. And then you think of all players in the squad that an effort of Tanguy should make up the player down in midfield? He needs runners and battlers around him as he is unfortunately not up to it. If you have top FBs on the pitch to support midfield movemnent and attack like prime Walker and prime Rose it could work.
And have ever these 5 at the back gave us any defensive stability?

Good on Mou to change it at HT but the selection in first half was piss poor.
Every opponent knows great we can have a go at them.

It must be super frustrating for our attacking players too.

Squad / fitness issues aside and a lot of the downfall had to do with Poch and Levy, but Mou has to do better with this situation. Just imagine a manager with not a reputation like joses would be here and set us up like this.

Sounds like Dave likes modern art ...

I'll wait for the Chelsea.Slag.Out to have a window and a battle with Levy over transfers before I get into the reading between the lines of an internet journo hack.

If it was someone more 'acceptable' then I wouldn't be surprised if the criticism was more muted.

Even tho I don’t think Mourinho should be our manager I have to give him credit. As I said before he once again manages to convince majority of the fanbase that he’s overachieving when he’s underachieving but also somehow the universe is on his side. Against Norwich the media and majority of the fanbase talked about the Dier situation and now yesterday about Ndombele instead of him and his tactics. He once again somehow gets away with it

There's a fair few articles criticising his tactics and hacks calling him yesterday's man not to mention some of our fans constantly at his neck so not sure what he's got away with?

I suppose the encouraging thing about that story about him at Guingamp is that he does eventually sort it out (albeit at another club). We have to work with the equipment we have, so it is in the club's interests to continue to try and get more from him.

We got a point??? wow

We lost a half because of his shitty tactics, and got 1 point after he partially corrected it. We lost 2 points. We could've lost 3 if he hadn't made the changes at half time.
Since when has Burnley away been considered a gimme 3 points? They're a decent well-drilled side. The entitlement and agendas of some fans on here is disturbing

I’d love to see the list of players he wants in the summer. That’s key for me.

He’s got until Xmas/New Year until I send Levy a strongly worded email.

Regardless of who he signs he’s got to set us up better next season but I’m giving him some leeway on this considering the current state of the squad. I’m a fickle results man, though, so I will put the caveat in that he can set us up like that next season but we better see some results.

It would be interesting for sure. One of things that surprised me in January was our apparent lack of search for a DM. IMO, a midfielder with any sort of reasonable defensive capabilities was and is needed more than an offensive midfielder like Gedson.

there will be many players that are not involved. there was talk about the QPR lad, and we also need a top striker and think about the HG list. There will be plenty of good players not involved at the Euros, and I doubt every signing would come in early. though if we don't get in to Europe next season we might not be spending enough to worry
We are going to have to mate otherwise we can expect to hover around the position we are in now remember it was this attitude and neglect that is part of the problem.

I'm still surprised that he hasn't gotten the defence a lot meaner than it is currently that was the one area I thought he would target first.
The gooners probably have an inferior back four to ours and yet arteta is getting some clean sheets along with making them harder to beat.
I understand his hands are tied with the striker situation which is a combination of bad luck and bad recruitment, but I certainly thought we would be harder to beat than what we are especially conceding every game at the moment.
