Nagelsmann quote on us and our tactical approach "I don't want to say it was easy. It sounds kind of arrogant"

Jesus that's some damning of José it's one of the worst things that could be said. Blows open his tactical genius myth.

Teddy, not you, not me, not anyone on this board is in any position to make claims of that nature. What you see on the pitch is the result of many factors of which coaching is only one.

What frustrates me so much is that people make categorical statements as if they are experts in the field and are in charge of all the facts. They're not. You're not. I'm not. It is nonsensical to act as if we know precisely all the ins and outs because we watch football. It's like saying we should be doctors because we've seen every episode of ER.
Hang on, the post you quoted said that Mourinho is not blameless. That is absolutely right and anyone is free to make that claim.

He is being paid a lot of money to add value to our team. Results aren’t good at the moment and, even if there are many good reasons for this, Mourinho should take his share of responsibility. That much is uncontroversial surely? Unless you think results in 2020 would be significantly worse with a reasonable alternactive?

So in all seriousness then. For those, and there is a lot, saying that Mourinho should be sacked. I ask the question of who we would bring in at this stage?

Who do people believe is out there who could make a drastic change to this current team?

This same team that has now failed Pochettino by getting 24 points from 25 games, and is now failing Mourinho.

Is it not time to actually start to blame these players instead?

The same problems existed before he arrived.

He's been dealt a crap hand in terms of injuries and a record signing who has gone M.I.A.

He hasn't been able to turn it around,. But he got the job because we were in free fall and maybe it's.not something that can be achieved in four months and one window.

Do explain in our current condition what players could do everything you’ve asked for????

This is a major problem for us. Tonight our only attacking options were Dele, Lucas and Lamela. I fully expect Lamela to be injured some time soon which leaves with Dele and Lucas.

Both of these players are struggling at the minute as they are being played out of position and also neither of them are overly dangerous players unless they have quality around them. All in all it makes us incredibly easy to play against as every team could have just one centre back against us and comfortably defend.

Honestly if I were Ole, on Sunday I would play Maguire as a lone CB, have Shaw and AWB either side of him and then go full out attack. They would absolutely destroy us.

I'm sure I read (somewhere) that Jose doesn't coach the forwards as he like them to express themselves, well he better flipping start, because that was hard to watch, absolutely bereft of ideas.
We look bereft of ideas because we have no fecking striker on the pitch!!!
Moura, Alli, lamela, bergwijn, Lo Celso - even son - none of them are a true striker and can’t play the fecking role!!!! They are making the right runs but there is no one in the box, no one making ‘striker’ runs

it’s so bloody obvious - yet people can’t seem to see it!!

Winner winner winner! Just posted exactly the same thing
you don’t have to have played the game at any great standard to understand positions are there for a reason - with players playing said roles

Literally no one promised us a trophy this season, what are you talking about?

Have a look at the poll at the top of this very thread.

When you sell something so specific and it's so far away you can't blame people getting angry at the thing they were sold. It's just human nature. Personally I was always in for the long haul with Jose but I never sold these lemons.

And @Zond is a cowardly sock puppet.

I largely agree. So we need a manager to lead a long term rebuild and reshape the squad. The man who did that so well last time seems the obvious choice for that job. Mourinho really does not.

People paid good money to go to that game and Mourinho did not try to win the game or change anything.
I don’t care what Mourinho has won. He has already got the players putting in less effort for him. That was a worse performance than when we got thrashed by Bayern at home.

The same can be said of any manager at any club
That's the thing with Moura, He puts in a shift for sure, but offers nothing in terms of a threat really. The fact that Jose seems to like him a lot is telling in that he is blinded by his ability to chase the game, even when it is seemingly gone. He doesn't seem to look at everything else he doesn't bring, which is a lot. A very single-minded player and limited in terms of ability, which is in part down to his lack of ability to actually read the game. For me, he is industrious at best. Though the same could easily be said of Lamela, however, I'll cut him some slack as he is playing when really he shouldn't be and should be working on getting fit.

You’re taking the pole out of context. The poll is there to show what we THINK will happen under Mourinho, it is in no way a promise that we would win trophies this season, if at all under Mourinho. It’s just our opinion of what could happen with him at the helm.

No one, Not Levy, Not Mourinho, Not the tea lady, not the cheese room, no one at all ever promised us trophies under Jose.

History suggests there’s a good possibility as he hasn’t failed to win silverware at any of his previous clubs, but it is in no way a promise or nailed on fact that we will win trophies.

You know what I don’t disagree with you. Poch should have been given more time, however he wasn’t and we are now in this position.

I’ve always hated teams like Chelsea, Watford, West Ham because they chop and change their managers at any given opportunity when it goes slightly wrong. I just hope we don’t turn into one of those teams.

I also hope our fans haven’t decided to be like theirs and demand success when it’s clear we haven’t got the squad to deliver it.

I voted for the "silverware here we come" option, I was under no impression whatsoever that that meant we'd be winning a trophy this season. It was just asking for a general level of optimism about the appointment as far as I was concerned.
