In terms of learning Korean, Mourinho is certainly a linguistic genius and trained translator, he also started studying German last year. Makes me cringe people commenting about his accent "I sink" etc when most people in this country can barely speak one language.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has said he always believed in the club’s vision when he came on board and was aware of its rich history.
“My opinion changed for the better, but the idea that I had was already good. With so many years in England, I knew the history, the prestige of the club and the quality of the players. Of course, when you see a club building that stadium and this training ground you understand immediately the vision. It was basically what I was waiting for,” Mourinho said in quotes shared with IANS.
“I think to play nice and to use that as a kind of protection for not getting results is not me. I also think that because I have that experience, there are a few qualities that without them you just can’t win. ”
According to the two-time Champions League winning manager, the process in a football team starts with “the one thing that takes the most time to develop, which is the psychological profile of the group.”
“Individual psychological profile? Some players can have it in isolation and some not so much. But, that collective state of mind I think is something that takes time. Looking at the quality of our players when I arrived and what had happened in the past, I think that was something that we needed to improve,” he said.

I got A*s in both French and German at GCSE (a longer time ago than I care to admit now), but most of that sounded like the below to me...

One thing that has made me more excited about Mourinho is that he has clearly identified and addressed the areas we all knew were weaknesses (and we've known for some time too!). RB, and especially CM, have been problem areas for a while. Making us more resilient was obviously a major focus area, and I think we will concede 10-15 goals fewer than we have in the last couple of seasons. The fact he is also signing big, powerful players will help when we are not playing well and hopefully eradicate conceding soft goals from set pieces. We do have fantastic forwards, and if Jose gets them firing we will have a very good season. We do still need a back up target man, someone who can occupy CBs and hold the ball up and give our speed merchants a platform, and positively the ITK suggests this is the next priority.

What will be most interesting, and I think key to our success ultimately, is how well Dele plays this season as a #10. With two of Son, Moura and Bergwijn on either flank, Dele will be key to playing in between the lines, and crucially moving the ball quickly. His goal output has always been great, but he needs to be better than he has been for 18 months with his creativity and the speed at which he moves the ball. The signals from pre-season are that he is coming back to form in this regard.

I’ll happily go on record to express my delight for the signings so far this window. Some problem areas addressed. We can only speculate why this wasn’t done sooner. Now we wait. My issues with Mourinho remain and it’s down to him to change my mind.

He's finally giving some balance to our team and signing players that aren't fancy names but much needed in our strange disjointed squad.

Hart is a leader, a winner and you can already hear his influence during the game, no doubt he is just the same in the changing room and training ground.

PEH is the same, he won't put up with players not showing for the ball and will demand more from everyone.

Doherty is exactly what we need on the right side and for the price an absolute steal.

Home grown / Premier league experience in before the season starts and already strengthening in all the right areas. Too long we have been too soft and nice and easy. These players are none of this and i think we are quietly going about our business in a great way thus far.

Excited to see how we finish the window off and how Jose moulds this team. Turning a team like ours, the nearly men, into winners is such a huge task. But i'm finally starting to see it take some shape with this recruitment and the resurgence of Dele in pre-season, not sure where he has been the last two years. But really hopes he takes the criticism on and shows us all the level he should be playing at.

I am sure winning you over is top of his list.

Joking aside, I think you are right. He has been on a charm offensive to the fans since day one, and the Amazon series will cement that more.
3 years ago I obtained an Irish passport due to an Irish grandparent and vowed to play for Ireland over England.

I won Dougal over and It was one of the highlights my life.

Sorry, dumb question.. is Jose bigging up our youth players.. not had much time recently to watch his interviews but a mate says he is acting like he rates them?

Really impressed with Jose's transfer work so far (as I have been for the most part in his other clubs). I think the two we've signed will be pretty transformative, especially for our defense, which was already doing pretty well after the restart. I think the missing piece now is a more creative player (an Eriksen replacement basically). Also think Skriniar would be a great signing if we can get him.

We badly need some creativity in the middle. Ndombele was supposed to bring that but seemingly due to 563 increasingly ridiculous reasons he won't be.

He is giving them chances in the preseason games, but this is a covid year and there are a lot of games to go through.Still he has been putting them out there

Watching the Amazon series is fascinating and I won't put any spoilers in this thread, but you can see why Jose has brought in Hart and Hojbjerg. You can also see why Jose was keen to get Dier in his starting XI. It is all about character and being up for a fight.

I’ll throw one out there that I am sure will cause outrage but hey ho. I think Jose is much more likeable than Pochettino

I think both are quite likeable. Just different characters. But both would be fun to hang out and chat football, life, etc.

It shouldn't cause outrage, it's just an opinion. I'm not sure how we are defining likeable but I'm sure there are players who prefer Mourinho style and those who preferred Poch.

I thought Mourinho came across really well in the three episodes I watched
