I came in late but just saw Walker's own goal on the highlights. I swear he must be the dumbest player in the PL.

Bentaleb has been extremely disappointing.

We need better midfielders. Bentaleb has been lazy with poor passing and Dier is sluggish in moving into spaces to receive the ball. If we don't make substitutions we can only lump it up to our slow attackers or gamble with giving the ball to Bentaleb and Died and hope they don't give it away in a compromising position.

Disappointing as United haven't been good at all and this is a genuine chance to take something from old trafford. It's been an even game but mistakes always cost us, I really dislike how whenever we lose it in CM we look in big trouble, whereas when they do, which has been more frequent than us, we don't look as dangerous. Need to pin them in like we did for that brief period rather than winning the ball and the first thought being to give it to the CB's.

Love the overreactions.

Our issue is we're playing both a more athletic and mentally strong side.

We have a slow buildup, an insufficient press, and much less confidence. United aren't better than us, but we're too slow to take advantage.

Oh but don't worry everybody this is the team that beat Chelsea and arsenal last season. Fuck me sideways.
It's not like untied made their own chance to score or dominated up to that point. We handed them a goal and momentum. Not by the way we played as a team which was great up to that point and would have continued so.

Psychologically, a mistake like that on the first day away to united will affect the team. We need to regroup and refresh our mindset and come out and play.

Apart from when Dier did what Bentaleb did but just didn't get punished by Utd, or get the thirty "what a wanker" posts that Bentaleb got.

That's because he had played well.

Bentaleb had already made at least 2 of those that went unpunished in safer zones but didn't learn and even his jog back was uninspired given that he had fucked up. Poor Nabil went on to make another couple stray passes so clearly he's not on today.

I don't think he's someone who will slump if criticised, so Poch should replace him and get him to work harder. The team has many other young options who could replace him if he continues his complacent passing. Man U might be droll today but that doesn't mean you don't turn up. I know we are far from being champions but just a little more composure and really taking it to these teams would do well for the long run, instead of turning up, mentally crumbling and allowing them to get away with playing shite and taking all three.

Conceding a goal is a set back, of course, but we have got to be mentally prepared better for that to happen, and not just shrink into our shell, stop doing basic things that we were doing right and enabling us to dominate.

You can't just collectively crumble at the first set back. We must be mentally prepared for set backs, know how to react.
it seems like that's something engrained in the mentality of the club though, we've been like that for as long as I can remember.

1.) Good first 10-15 mins but since they scored we've looked nervous. No-one is willing to man up and take responsibility except maybe Kane.
2.) Some great tackles from Dier but his general play is a bit pedestrian. We could do with more dynamism in the middle.
3.) Bentaleb appears to have forgotten how to play football. Terrible half from him.
4.) Some nice cross-field balls from Alderweirld. Like Dawson, but on target.
5.) Utd look there for the taking. All their positive play has come from our mistakes. It's a real shame we've gifted them so much.

I hope we make some changes. Trippier and Alli couldn't do worse than Walker and Bentaleb.

Started great. Missed the best chance we're going to get. Stupid goal then typical Spurs heads go down

Do things ever change? Come on Spurs, grow some fucking balls. It's not clientele, it's bottle. Utd were/are there for the taking

Composure under pressure from our 2 DMs has cost us, although Carrick and Morgan have been caught too. Lets hope we push on in the second half and turn things round.

United got more interceptions which perhaps shows better fitness levels over all.

an Eriksen miss and Nabil bad pass has cost us what could of been perfect half. United have been poor and are lucky to be ahead.

Should we get our heads out of his arse when he was brilliant against both Chelsea and Arsenal last year too?

Guy's had a bad game. He's had plenty of good ones for us. Needs to tighten up his passing in dangerous areas for sure, but the venom on here is shameful.

it's not the bad game that's upsetting pal, its when runners sprint by him and he doesn't break past a jog, even though its a counter attack that came from his shitty pass, it's fucking bullshit

Don't think anybody has forgotten that. But he needs to man up and fix himself in this game.

United far less threatening than I thought they would be.

First 20 minutes were very promising and then its been downhill since Bentaleb's mistake and the goal.

We just can't move the ball well enough from deep and we're still massively lacking ideas when we go forward...it just keeps coming back and then we have Dier who won't look forward.

Surely Poch should bring young Alli on, he simply won't do any worse and will probably give us more fluidity from midfield.

So disappointing to be losing to a very lackluster Man United team.
Shame Pritchard isn't ready. Think he would have a real effect on this game. United don't look that impressive just that we have no penetration.

Round of applause for pointing out 2 games from 38 in the league... Well done... Just what we need, another player who turns up for 2-3 games a year... :(
