It seems that the great (cheat) man has been in England to try to get himself involved with football in this country in some way.

Does anyone think it would be good to get him involved at spurs, initialy in a scouting/youth development capacity?

I think that potentially he would be very good at this role as south american players and clubs respect him very much.

(He could also get good quality blow for Woodgate )

I was just going to leave it at that, in fact, I am.

Care to give an explanation for your views. (wonder if you'll be clever enough to just write no again)

Did anyone see his comments in yesterdays Sun?

He basically slated Beckham saying he is an average player and went on to say that Lennon was a player he liked alot! If Lennon was to read that, surely it would give him a great boost!

Can't find the link at the moment though.

No. I spend a lot of time in Argentina, and the man is a joke. In and out of hospital, but most importantly, totally bonkers. He's not stupid by any means, but he's the Britney Spears of Argentina, totally addicted to fame and unabled to make a decision without an entourage. His brief stints in management have been a total disaster, and he expects to be paid money simply for being famous. He's unable to spend more than 10 minutes in any job.

I'm sure we already have scouts in Argentina, and they are probably a hell of a lot more competent than Diego.

Pretty much agree with that. I love Maradona. Easily the best player ever and an amazing character, but to have him at the club would be a sideshow and a distraction.

What a great fucking player though.

If he could pass on even a fraction of the skills he had to our players then it would be worth it.

The same could be said about loads of top players, but sadly most top players can't coach. If it was as easy as saying "Just run past every defender and put the ball in the corner of the net" then Man Utd would have been coached by George Best instead of Fergie.

This is true except that Maradona wasn't just a 'top player' was he? George Best was undoubtedly a great but he wasn't as good as Maradona. Only Pele could rival Maradonas skill.

Yeah, but Pele likes Butt.

Yeah, but you've identified the problem yourself. Maradona was an exceptional talent, and exceptional talent can't be coached.

One of the accusations often levelled at Hoddle when he was in charge of Spurs (and England) was that he didn't quite comprehend that not every player is as skillful as he was.

I don't think other countries dislike him like we do, for obvious reasons. Could be a decent person to raise the worldwide profile of Spurs. And score your charlie from.
