I think most people knew this was coming but it is still incredible that Man Utd are letting him go.
Widely acknowledged as a key component of the Man U setup and we should be all over this. If we could get him in to work with boht youth and senior players we would have an incredible asset on our hands.

Ha ha, it's funny you should mention that actually as I've always had a kind of strange irrational conviction about Villa that he would one day play for us. This goes right back to his Valencia days. I'm not sure what it is about him that made me think that, as I say it's completely irrational. I guess like Ledley, Hoddle, and Bale 'he was born to play for Spurs', even if he himself wasn't aware of this indisputable fact until a few weeks ago.

I should add as a disclaimer that I had the exact same feeling about Joe Cole.
