Nah. His ability with the ball at his feet is his one redeeming quality. Low shots, he never gets down to in time. If he saves something 7/10 times he palms it into the danger zone. I can’t be bothered to go into it more He wasn’t good enough for Southampton, he’s nowhere near good enough for us.

If there's one thing you can say about Southampton, it's that they don't do a good job with keepers.

I think he's been decent. He's paid for himself with penalty saves at least, and I expect he'll do well with an extended run in the team. I think it's a confidence thing, as he looked great last season.

People want a young keeper for the future but Gazzaniga is only 27 (young for a keeper) and still gets criticised (probably by the same people who want a younger keeper). Give the guy a chance to improve. A run in the team will only do him good. It can't be understated just how tough it is for reserve keepers who rarely play in the first team. The same goes for Vorm who rarely ever plays and yet people expect him to come in do great. I'm glad we have him back but just as a emergency in case Gazzaniga gets injured. Paulo would still be my first choice and I would not be surprised to see him become our number one with several months first team football to develop. One thing is for sure and that's I'm a lot more confident when we pass it back to Gazzaniga than Lloris.

Seems like a nice guy, but I really hope he’s not called into action. He was shocking before Gazzaniga supplanted him as No 2 and I can’t imagine four months off kicking his heels has made him any better.

Also suggests that no one else wanted him either?

Gazzaniga needs some competition. We cannot take a chance on an untried keeper who has never been near a first team appearance.
In view of Hugo’s many mistakes over the last few seasons, are we any worse off?

Yes, yes we are. Are you forgetting how crucial Hugo was for our CL run?

But I do agree that it would be very prudent, anyway, to bring back Vorm (until the winder window opens, at least).

And Hugo hasn't been shocking lately?
The World Cup Final and his two recent catastrophes for us......not sure I've ever seen a top keeper do that.

That’s a good call from the club to bring back Vorm. Imo the best short term option out there

So how will the foreign spots now work as for Europe? Will someone have to drop out? (Assuming Hugo wont be dropped as he could be useful in the latter stages?) Or can we not change the European squad until January? I can’t remember how it all works, so a genuine question.

Can’t change it until group stage is finished

I am dreading him being first choice for a while. What is the actual point of your post? Do you think you’ve proved me wrong? I pray to Anubis he’s not a train wreck while he deputises - but I’m not holding my breath.

As I say, I don’t care enough to get into this boring shite. You lot can froth at the mouth, belch awful rebuttals with no basis in reality and neg rep. All I hope is that he’s semi-decent at least this time round.

I for one am happy with resigning Vorm on a short term contract under the circumstances. He knows the team and set up and they know him.

Unattached, so can sign him for cover now. Intelligent.

Just a shame that llorente found a club otherwise I would have taken him back too as beggars can't be choosers and we don't have other many options in either department at the moment.

I was always happy with Vorm as second choice keeper.

He‘s a solid, experienced premier league keeper.

Presumably a bit too rusty to start at present but gives us another option until Lloris is fit.

Wtf are you talking about? It’s like you didn’t watch a single game he played in last year.
