Yeah. As good as Skriniar might be for our back line, losing the one creative midfielder in our ranks would be shit. I was hoping to see GLC, Dele and N'Dombele rotating through two spots in the midfield. No N'Dombele leaves us with shit options as I cannot see Winks suddenly turning into that sort of player.

Edit:
“Skriniar is included in a negotiation at the will of Tottenham and José Mourinho,” he told Sky Sports, relayed by inter-news.it.
I can believe this as Jose knows he is getting quality at CB that we otherwise would not be able to afford.

“It’s the exchange with Ndombélé, who is on the margins of the Spurs project but has always liked Inter.
Has he?

“Among the Nerazzurri, the exchange with Skriniar is also privileged to keep up the value of the players.

Not sure I understand the translation here. Are they saying that Inter believe they can overcharge us for Skriniar by trying to force a straight swap?

“It’s important to understand who will make up the difference between the two clubs.

Telling the Inter fans that Spurs are the ones asking for the deal and that their club are the ones in charge.

“Not an easy negotiation, a possible replacement for the Slovak could be Marash Kumbulla.”

Inter are trying to pay for N'Dombele with an unknown 20 year old.

Inter: Hey can we buy N'Dombele?
Spurs: Sorry he's not for sale.
Inter: Yeah Yeah, everyone has a price. How much?
Spurs: Fine. How about cash and Skriniar?
Inter: Tell you what, how about we trade for this really good prospect. 20 years old CB, you've probably heard of him.

So according to the journalist Inter have come to us wanting to buy a player of ours and are now dictating the terms of the deal, to a point where they might force us to take someone we don't even want. Fuck off is that the case.

If they want N'Dombele and we don't want to sell him then they have to make it worth our while. They came to us, not the other way around.

Here is a thought. Maybe Mou wants to change us to a 5-2-3 next season. He could then play Lucas as a RWB and he could have Alli sitting central with Kane and Son as his strikers. GLC and PEH in centre mid with Sess possibly getting game time at LWB.

It would make sense of this transfer as otherwise we would have this guy, Dier, Toby, Sanchez and Tanganga battling for two spaces.

I think you get one thing wrong or i didn't understand it. That is, inter is trying to buy marash kumbulla as their replacement of Skriniar. Spurs are going to get Skriniar with ndombele going to inter. This is what the article speculating at this moment I think. Marasha kumbulla is not coming to spurs ... Marash will be skriniar's replacement at Inter if they let skriniar go

The reason why conte wants to sell skriniar is he can't play in 3 men defense with high line football. Skriniar is old school john terry style defender. One of the best in the world if you put him in back 4 !! In back 5, he looks lost ...

Kumbulla would be Skriniar's replacement at Inter, he plays for Hellas Verona and is one of the best young defenders in Italy.

I am so concerned about the creativity within the side if we give up on Ndombele.

Yet he hasn’t really played and we’ve won without him. A lot. I’m not sure we will really miss him. Weird he’d want to go and play for conte though. Conte is hardly famous for letting his players slacken off.

Yeah, I understand that (the winning matches part). I think the point was more about hoping for a more attractive style of play, in general. Ndombele at his best would certainly help with that and what we showed after the restart was a counter heavy/sledgehammer style attack which obviously will have shortcomings over the course of a season.

I thought our thing was to buy all the left backs not all the central defenders?

This certainly would not align with Mourinho's desire to have a more balanced squad this window unless we plan to offload either Dier, Toby, Sanchez, or Tanganga [3 of which just signed new deals]. Signing Skriniar and having a fifth senior CB at the expense of one of our top centre midfielders seems unnecessary.

As you said do we really need 4 CBs competing for one spot and also Tanganga and at a push even Davies who can play there. Even if he’s great surely it would mean we are selling either Dier, Toby or Sanchez as its just a waste of resources. We can’t have two first team CBs who only play Europa or cup games.

This link feels off ignoring fact Ndombele isn’t at all a Conte type player. When we have massive issues elsewhere, limited budget too, if we’re actually gonna give up after a year why would we blow all the potential Ndombele money on adding a 5th CB? Hope it’s just rubbish being fed from Inter’s side.

Ndombele isn't a Conte player, but Conte is not running the club. Just like Eriksen, Inter will sign players that they feel will up their 'profile' not what Conte wants.

Brozovic, for example, is key to what Conte is trying to do. I think Conte walks if Brozovic goes. Good chance Conte walks anyway. The problem is Conte is clearly one of the best managers in world football. What he did in Juve and Italy was exceptional, and even Inter and Chelsea were big hits. But he is gaining a reputation as being very outspoken and confrontational with hierarchies in clubs. This might cost him top jobs.
