Not elite, but the main CB pairing in a title winning team, Huth and Morgan.Ok, but apart from them?

To be clear, I’m not saying that this makes for up for being a donkey, but lightning speed isn’t an absolute necessity in an organised defenceAgree, if you can read the game and know where to position yourself, you do t need to be Linford Christie.....Ledley wasn’t exactly quick
Ledley always struck me as being pretty rapid, even when his knees went and he was hardly training, he still had pace.Agree, if you can read the game and know where to position yourself, you do t need to be Linford Christie.....Ledley wasn’t exactly quick
Agree over 5 or 10 yards....burst of acceleration vs speedLedley always struck me as being pretty rapid, even when his knees went and he was hardly training, he still had pace.

I think Henry also said that King was one of the only PL defenders he faced that didn't rely on thuggery and shithousery to stop him.Ledley was really quick and had perfect positioning and a load of other top qualities. Henry said he was the only defender in the prem that could match him.
That being said according too Fabrizio Romano Jose thinks Skriniar is the best centre back in the world and is pushing for him hard.
But you have to remember that they had arguably one of the best CDM's in the world with a never ending engine to help protect them from a lot of threatsNot elite, but the main CB pairing in a title winning team, Huth and Morgan.

I'd rather a Skriniar and Brozovich double deal personally. Would balance out our midfield options splendidly - though I imagine it could only happen if Ndombele or Alli were going in the other direction. Broz situation one to keep an eye on nonetheless.
I was just pointing out that against weaker opposition we do go higher. He is not a tortoise - he is not really slow anyway. From what I know he is just not comfortable in back3 because he has to positionally cover full backs space which he is not good at. Lets see - if we sign him, we should know straight away.
Barcelona have circa 70% possession, game in game out. We don’t.I was just pointing out that against weaker opposition we do go higher.
I dont really buy into the thinking that you need to be blisteringly quick to play a high line. Plenty of examples in Barcelona sides over the recent years.
