Tottenham line up January move for Leyton Orient winger Moses Adubajo
Tuesday 1 Oct 2013 11:48 am

Tottenham are lining up a move for Leyton Orient winger Moses Adubajo ahead of the January transfer window.
Adubajo, 20, is rated as one of the best young players in the lower divisions, and has played a crucial role in Orient’s unbeaten start to the League One season.
Manchester United and Arsenal and believed to have talent spotters monitoring the player, but Tottenham are planning a £1million bid in the new year.
It’s thought that Orient value Adubajo at closer to £3million, but the player has been made aware of the interest from elsewhere, and could push for a switch.

Andre Villas-Boas has already had the green light from Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to spend in January, and is working on a list of targets.
However, while experience tops the bill, there would be room for Adubajo, who can play on the right wing or at right-back, and could be a useful impact player.
The Greenwich-born flyer is known for his speed and pace, and has previously spent time on-loan with St Albans, Sutton United and Bishop’s Stortford before breaking through at the Matchroom Stadium.

I live in one of the corner flats of Leyton Orient so watch a lot of the home games. Noticed him start of last season, quality going forward. They were playing him at right back for a long time last season, mainly out of necasity although there is a feeling that's really his best position if he were to make the step up...

It's all a bit weird as I did single him out then as someone who could make the steps up to the prem... Didn't think it'd be with spurs mind! Anything else you want to know then ask, I've seen him a lot...

Me and my son singled this kid out at the end of last season when he was pushed up the wing from right-back and he really is mustard for the level he is playing at. Not sure if he could step up but would like to see him given a chance and for Spurs to throw a life-line to the O's. For a Spurs fan with a local allegiance to the Orient this is fantastic if true.

How would you rate him at right back compared with Naughton?
Could well be a back up to Walker?

Yeah he's come on a lot, I remember they played him a bit on the right wing at the start of the season as well before moving him back to right back... Which I thought was a bit daft at the time though may of been due to them being thin on the ground in the right back position. I said before, if he does make the step up I wouldn't be surprised if it was at the right back position but at the level he's playing now it'd be waste.

He looked comfortable there when he did play and managed to get forward. It's really hard to judge though at this level defensively. I seem to remember one quick winger giving him the run around a bit but he's young so wouldn't read too much into it.

He has also filled out over the last year, he's tough, quick and got a few tricks in him, surprisingly descent crosser of the ball as well. Leyton going forward are a good team at the moment as well, combines well with the descent footballers around him... I do wonder whether he could make the step up, as I said, I singled out before as having the potential to get into the prem. But was expecting it to be more with someone like West Ham or Palace or the like, not spurs... I imagine there's a few clubs keeping tabs on him mind.

Think he would benefit from a full season where he is as his development continues so strongly. He played very well as a right-back, getting forward often, and I could see him as backup to Walker there at Premier level, as already said, too.

With Spurs currently playing with inverted wingers (not sure if that's the right term but a left footed winger on the right and a right footed winger on the left) how do you think he would do on the left and cutting in?

Him and Cox do swap sides these days during the match so he has played there... Not sure it's where he's most comfortable, but he could learn. It strikes me it's more for Cox's benefit than it is Mos when they do swap. He does have a shot on him but its his crossing thats whats really impressed me. I did spend a lot of the games around last Christmas just concentrating on watching him to be fair... It must be a laugh being a scout!

IMO he's more right back than inside left forward but that was said about Bale(opposite sides) and look what happened to him!

Of course we want Moses Adubajo in our squad. We would also like to see Victor Moses.
