Not a Jose type player but Cantwell is a class act and would be a good buy

Brooks of Bournmouth another classy young player improving all the time. Hopefully his injury problems are behind him

Don’t think either would be Jose’s radar but both add youth, energy, creativity and a few goals

Both 22 and both probably just about to be relegated
Agree about both. Brooks probably needs a year to show he's recovered from his injury. Cantwell looks like he's got a bit of a nasty bastard streak as well

Mourinho also has a lot better pulling power than Poch as seen with Fernandes and Bergwijn
From what I've seen so far I wouldn't have minded if Gedson had gone somewhere else. Hopefully he'll come good.

You can see he’s talented but he’s way too raw at the moment. He’s also similar to Ndombele in the sense that I don’t see where he currently fits into our team.

Jose will have a plan on what the team needs I remember at Inter thinking he had lost his mind selling Ibra but then got Eto, Milito and Wesley Sneijder and wins the league and the CL. Oh dear, I’ve just realised he’s going to sell Harry Kane!

This will not be popular but, if the end result is the same- winning pl or cl with a balanced squad- sell

I am fascinated to see how Jose will approach balancing the squad. In some respects, the sales and thinning out + incorporating youth needs to be understood before new purchases can be factored in. My sense is that the baseline squad could be something like this:
ST: Kane, Parrott
LFW: Stevie Bergwijn, Ryan Sessegnon
MFW: Alli, Lamela,
RFW: Son, Clarke
MD1: GLC, Ndombele
MD2: Winks, Skipp
LB: Ben Davies, Dennis Cirkin
CD First Pair: Davidson Sanchez + Toby Alderweireld
CD Second Pair: Eric Dier + Juan Foyth
RB: Japhet Tanganga + KWP
GK: Hugo Lloris, Paulo Gazzaniga

Now immediately KWP is loaned out and a RB is brought in but then there is a good base line to build on.
Several favorites are gone and some money raised but that needs to happen.
A real balance could be created by starting here and adding 3-4 players to the group.
Wow so to create balance it looks like we are getting rid of Sissoko (who is on a long term deal would not raise much money and is a managers dream) and Lucas (who is clearly rated by the manager and is clearly a useful player even if not starting). Those two are definitely not in the sell list. I imagine we would want to keep Aurier too, unless we manage to get two right backs in (although I like Tanganga).

Also, I would be shocked if CLC and Ndombele would ever really play as a midfield two. They seem very different. I imagine balancing the squad will mean getting two fullbacks, a second striker, a midfielder and ideally an AM. Three of those signings will simply be replacing players we have essentially already got rid of (Rose and Vertonghen) and we can easily get in two players while being in squad limits

We don't really need a trim down, we only registered 20 players out of 25 after Jan, two of which have left or are leaving. It is a bit of a question mark how we are going to raise funds though. I suspect Foyth, Clarke and KWP will be loaned off or sold, Cirkin and Parrott are also unlikely to feature. We really need to be bulking our squad up, not cutting it down next window.

Meh Cantwell is talented but not sure which way he'll go. Brooks would be much better. Grealish is who we need to push the boat out for.

Mate, both those players we could have signed regardless of who was in charge.

Fernandes probably came because of Jose's links with agents, and the fact the kid was missing his family who live in London may have played a big factor in the move too. The reality is in most circumstances he would be moving to a West Ham type club tops not us. Don't get me wrong he isn't a player without talent but he has a lot to prove, he wasn't exactly forcing himself into the Benfica team before we got him.

Bergwijn was clearly an opportunistic buy, Jose even publicly stating it wasn't his 'first option'. Again, he was a player looked at by big clubs but not many willing to commit. Players from the Netherlands can struggle to replicate that form in Europe and Bergwijn wasn't super hyped. He played very well in the Netherlands, but lots do. It looks to have been a very clever buy.

Last season our signings, particularly Ndombele but also Lo Celso, were much bigger names than Bergwijn and Fernandes. Mind, so was Moura and Aurier a few seasons back.

I suspect that Poch would be much more likely to refuse players he didn't see as perfectly fitting within his vision though, but this really isn't any proof at all of bigger pulling power. Poch has a very good reputation internationally for coaching players and has a bigger pull than some might realise, but most of all, club status normally trumps manager.

Obviously Grealish was the one but that ship has sailed if Villa hold out for huge money for him

On Cantwell/Brooks I think Brooks excites me more as he has more potential trickery and creativity (Injuries permitting) but Cantwell potentially has the athleticism, dynamism, strength which Isn’t a bad combo!

Interesting to see how they both progress

Cantwell has a very odd technique and seems to be a bit sloppy and headless at times. Though he is clearly talented. Brooks is clearly class, but depends how he comes back from his injury. Yeh Grealish looks set for United but United can't sign all the players they are linked to and will have to make decisions. Fortunately, AM is a very strong position in the league with lots of great homegrown talent, so we should land one!

Not seen anything of him. Some impressive stats for the 21 year old but he’s in the Championship and with all due respect to QPR not a huge amount of spotlight or pressure.

What’s he like?

He has definitely got the potential to step up and was more impressive in the Championship than Brooks or Cantwell.

His main strength is his ability to move with the ball. He is similar to Dembele in the way he protects the ball and eases past players. As well as being very strong and quite quick, he also has end product and at 21 has the maturity to be the main man at QPR and take on that responsibility. I'm sure he only has 12 months left in his contract so would be a lot cheaper than Cantwell or Brooks and would be on lower wages too.

I don't think we necessarily need him but for me he would be too good an opportunity to miss and we would regret letting him go to someone like Leicester and then have to pay silly money in a few seasons.

I'm quite certain Willian will be on Jose's list. Jose often signs his former players (Matic, Eto, Drogba, Essien, Carvalho, and I'm sure quite a few others that aren't coming to mind).
