I personally think the CL final loss broke him. I think that in his head he'd already been feeling like he might be done with his time at Spurs and that's why he said if he won it, he would leave as it would be the perfect way to wrap up a great 5 years. The problem is that having lost the final he didn't know how to deal with it. He was absolutely beside himself. The loss he felt was clear and he then went to his home in Barca and essentially mourned for 10 days, not leaving the house. When I heard that it concerned me greatly. Other managers would be defiant in that loss and say no, we will bounce back from this. Determination would have pushed it's way to forefront and he'd have reset and gone again.

Poch is known to be a deep thinker and very emotional. He admitted once that his mother used to say that he cried at everything (something like that). I honestly think he needs a break from football. 12 month sabatical at the least. His heart is not just not at Spurs anymore, it's not in football anymore IMO. I think the players can see it and feel it and will know about how he reacted after the CL final and they've lost faith in him.

This is a great post and something I've wondered for a while. He looks broken.

Also, as someone that is such a big proponent of talking about 'universal energy' .e. lemons absorbing bad energy etc., surely he was aware of the effect he was having going into this season and continuing to do so? Wouldn't be surprised if poch was carrying round a sack on his back at training.

agree with this, 100 percent. He needs a break.

what if we gave him a break, brought in a caretaker to deal with this season and then bought Poch back next summer? Is that as mental as it sounds?!

Has Ancelotti just come out of left field pretty much favourite now. Not seen any links anywhere ?

Out of interest he was not even quoted till 4 days ago then 34/1 then went 20/1 now 3/1 favourite.

I get where you’re coming from but getting paid a lot of money doesn’t make you immune from boredom, sadly.

I was joking. :D

They are humans at the end of the day, doesn't matter how much they earn if they hear the same voice over and over again you're not going to be as focused ass you once we're, happens to everyone at all levels - not just football.

He's the perfect medium between those who want to keep Poch and those who want a "winner" like myself. Proven winner with an attractive style of play and a decent tactical nous.

The Sun (so pretty much guarantees bullshit) say weve spoken to Mourinho and this will be his team

So we are signing Fernandes, Dybala and Atal in January. Thats a good 200 million there, plus Poch's payoff. Does the Sun even know who Levy is?

Why do I keep thinking that, should we dispense with Poch's services, that it'll be Benitez who'll get the nod? That feeling wasn't helped by the BBC article the other day in which he said he'd like to manage in the Premier League again 'some day' (or words to that effect).

He fancies challenging the great Ossie sides of 'we're going to score one more than you' eh? No GK as well, that's fucking progressive.

... I'm going to get myself a strong cup of tea and cry into it.

Does the Sun even know who Mourinho is? World renowned as a defense minded, experience favouring manager, so he's gonna put out a team with a young back line, 8 attacking players and no defensive midfielder.

Not only that, do they even know who Mourinho is? There’s barely a player with sound defensive instincts except for Sanchez and Lloris.... and even that’s debatable :D

I’d be reasonably happy with Benitez, better than another “project” manager anyway. Previously I would have said I couldn’t see it as he has previous at Liverpool for not being happy with perceived interference from the board on football matters, but now after working with Ashley I imagine working with Levy would seem like a dream.

Ozzies side played more exciting football than this one. Maybe we should consider getting him back instead
Yeah, I reckon people would love being mid table again while forking over hundreds each week. Seems like a common trend.
