If ever there was a strange time to do it then surely it must be right now, they have two crucial games left where they need to be completely focused and all pulling in the right direction to get something out of the last two games to ensure their safety.
Utter madness.....

I can’t stand Nigel Pearson, he’s an over promoted PE teacher. Bizarre time to sack him though.

I guess that they don't fancy him for next season and, based on the opposition coming up, survival is going to be down to the other teams losing their games rather than Watford getting anything. Very bizarre though.

I hope that Aston Villa get 3 points from their next game against that lot down the road and the pressure is really ramped up on Watford for the last game of the season, that will serve them bloody well right meaning they have to get something from the last game !

Such a weird club. I honestly don't think the Premier league would miss them if they went down.

If they had have done this once the season finished I would have probably understood why, as whilst I don't have anything against Pearson, he's a pretty limited coach.

They could then have thanked him for keeping them up and get in a coach who is more in line with their strategy and ambition.

But with two games remaining and still not guaranteed to stay up?? Either something has happened or there is some clause in his contract they are keen to avoid or they are just mentalists.

Counting on a possible new management bounce to get them to survive perhaps

If the players didn't like Pearson it would be one thing, but it sounded like players like Deeney really loved him, remember his "finally being treated like an adult" remark earlier this season.

Someone who claims to be Watford ITK wrote about a rift between Pearson and the DOF Giraldi, that they've never got along and it sounds like Giraldi was just waiting for an excuse. Shakespeare has also left.

Watford fans are screaming for the Pozzos to sack Giraldi and bring in a new DOF from what I'm reading.

We desperately need them to have something to play for against Arse so we need a favour from Villa, otherwise they'll surely down tools.

...And Huddersfield have just done the exact same thing, although they look safer than Watford.

The Cowley's had a really big challenge on their hands as that Huddersfield team is pretty poor and they had to reverse the feeling of negativity. Pretty experienced at that level so all things considered I thought they'd done well. But a chairman with a different idea again.

They’re basically saying he’s done the job he was brought in to do and they don’t want him there next season. They were 6 points adrift when he came in, now they’re 3 points clear.

Watford might have Arsenal and City to play, but Bournemouth aren’t going to pick up a win at Everton and Villa won’t pick up 6 points from their games either.

.............and Newcastle weren't going to beat us 5-0. Anything can happen.

I would totally understand letting him go at the end of the season, he's the antithesis of the sort of manager the Pozzos want so it's no surprise he was brought in to do the job and that's it.

But sacking him before mathematical safety was achieved on the assumption that Bournemouth and Villa won't pick up enough points is mental.
