Odsonne Edouard

I think there'd be an element of succession planning for losing Kane if we signed Edouard which is not necessarily a bad thing. If we signed Weghorst I think he'd play well with Kane as well as being an able deputy who could possibly help us win something here and persuade Kane to stick around. Not sure how I want this to pan out but I do think Kane needs more competition for his place at this precise moment.
Excellent point that has to be a consideration, even among us fans.

Also agree with you on how I would want this to pan out - I think Wout for the present would be excellent business but can very much see (limited viewing) on why folk would want Edouard.

I'll keep my fingers crossed though, because we have been here before and come up short. What a window this could be for the squad.

if it is between this guy and Ings for 40£. Edouard would be the option i think. But looking like a good striker in Celtic is not that hard, so i guess that is the caution

We already signed a number 9, next is winger for 4-4-2 and that will be allmighty Lingard. On a serious note I like all strikers we are being linked with lately, Wout, Edouard, Ings are way more exciting than Costa, Milik and Deeney.

Judging players based on goals scored in Scotland is dangerous but you can judge a player's all round ability more easily.

Hooper, Griffiths, Dembele, and Larsson all scored goals for fun for Celtic but Larsson was the only one who looked to be absolute top class.

If you had to rate them based on ability then it would probably be Larsson, Dembele, Hooper and Griffiths. Based on their careers away from Celtic, that is pretty accurate.

For me Edouard would be between Larsson and Dembele so in theory he should be able to step up no problem.

He’s the one I think. Must be a deal we can do that gets a couple of our fringe players - Sess and Clarke maybe - some good loan minutes?

His goal record for youth National team is also really good, amazing actually.

I think this could well be a pivotal season with regard to Kane's future. I'm sure he'd love to win something here, but even if we did I think that might hold an element of 'job done, time to move on' for him. In that case, having a top quality striker (possibly Edouard) already on board could certainly ease the pain if HK was head hunted. His fee would also presumably enable us to make some quality additions. Not an easy subject but it's no good hiding away from it.

I posted this back in February. He seems to score a lot of different goals and knows where the back of the net is. A sixth sense in the penalty area and confidence are two of the keys to being a good striker. Looking at these goals he appears to have that.

I know what you're saying and you're probably right, I just dislike it. It's tactics, but with those two examples (Bergwijn and lo celso) think the club's were looking to cash in rather than one sided.

Look at zaha, he wants to leave, he has made it clear but he has still given his all, if a player doesn't do that I wouldn't sign him, but I think I am in the minority.

Mourinho talks alot about mentality and I question quite a few of our players for this and I wouldn't risk anymore.
Well, yeah look at Zaha. Gives it his all and will likely not get his move.

Your example is essentially another reason why players do it to force moves.

I may be trying to be more clever by half but if Celtic are interested in Sessegnon on loan (not sure if we’d be interested in him going there but that’s a different story) and PSG are interested in Dele....and to make this deal happen, we need to satisfy price/interests of both clubs, can they all play a part to get us a fair fee that we’re comfortable to pay?

If it's true that PSG are in for Dele, then Levy can really earn the title of genius if he somehow sorts out that pesky Edouard sell-on fee and somehow offer them a discount on Dele if they forgo the money owed if we go for Edouard. I'm talking fantasy nonsense but still.

Kane just got so flustered after Mourinho interrupted his post match interview to call him his man of the match and people think we are looking to sell him or that he wants to leave.

I don’t think that’s good management when sons already been awarded man of the match , say it in private is ok

scottish league meh no thanks.
I guess you don't rate Van Dijk, Tierney, Robertson and McGinn then

Edouard would be a good signing but I cannot see Celtic letting their best player go when they are going for 10 in a row unless they have a replacement lined up

Money talks...

Have to say of all the expert Youtube scouting I've done this guy is the one that looks to have the xfactor. Ings is a fantastic player but it's hard to look past the injuries. Wout looks a bit wooden and maybe not as dynamic as the others but I will bow to those that have actually watched him over time to have a better opinion than me.
