Keeps himself out of the press and head down which is the kind of player I want at our club.
Except for the time where the girl he was fucking behind his missus' back took a photo of him in his fetching Y-fronts and sold it to the paper... :D

That said, I agree about ignoring his previous teams, as he's a good (not great) player.

In response to your reply yesterday.

It could show a lack of planning... Or it shows a club that won’t waste £30m on signing Piatek who isn’t premier league proven which is prudent. It shows a club that won’t just take a big money player like Bale back without making him fit to the clubs financial model.

I actually think it’s excellent planning to make solid deals in January where possible and keep the powder dry for bigger fish in the summer window.

My point isn't that we aren't signing a striker this window due to the high risk and low quality of what is available. I agree with you that it is good business sense to leave alone and what we have done we have done well in this window.

My point is WHY we are in this position in the 1st place. We needed another forward last summer. We needed a Dembele replacement the summer before that. These are shortcomings from a poor strategy.

And I'm telling you now, new excuses will be churned out in the summer when we again fail to address deficiencies in our squad.

Close but no cigar. Again.
Ah, ok now I get where you’re coming from.

I do agree, we shouldn’t be scrabbling around for signings and waiting until players have long departed to replace them.

Dembele: Couldn’t agree more. Maybe the club thought Skipp or Winks could do a job? In any case he could have been kept for the season and properly replaced. Maybe Poch was being too nice? Part of a players commitment to the club should include knowing the role they are intended for and knowing they can’t just walk until they are replaced, even if they only play in the big games due to fitness issues.

Forward: Yep, again why was Llorente sold and not replaced? Then again, it’s always going to be tough to attract a top talent when there’s a man like Kane in the team who is one of the best strikers in the world.

If we enter season 20/21 with an unbalanced squad I would expect fireworks from Mourinho and an even worse season than this year, probably with a change of coach.

I do think the stadium held up funds and that Levy is over cautious. I hope that some of what we saw was Poch not having the balls to stand up to Levy, and that Mourinho will have more leverage to deal.
That said, I am an optimist and a bit of a geek! If you read my post in the Enic section, I genuinely feel that the slow and steady approach we have taken has benefits. Finding the right player can take time.

Take Southampton, they took a punt on Dani Osvaldo, £15m I believe. Only to find they had signed a turkey who they released on a free! Or our dear rivals Wet Spam who bought Haller for £40m from Frankfurt, 5 goals so far. Or Cenk Tosun for Everton who hasn’t done much at all.

In summary, I hope the new coach has more pulling power and more leverage, and that the club has a strategy to begin to win trophies not just make money.

I hope we are all pleasantly surprised by the squad we have for the second part of the season and sort out the balance by next season (Full backs, DM, Forwards). I live in hope!

You could have used examples much closer to home...

Lampard has now confirmed chelsea wont be making any signings, so giroud wont be leaving. Options are seriously running thin.

Exactly my point... Even a player who is 50/50 in terms of temperament can be a gamble. Osvaldo retired first a few years, apparently beat up his wife and is now back playing again.

I think he must regenerate every time he gives someone a good shoeing

It's gonna be the usual today. Scrambling around for any striker ITK will be we are try, we'll have the overdraft ITK. Then silence for 3 or 4 hours followed by .... Mourinho is happy with his squad so we won't be signing a striker followed by the old Spurs will be doing no more business this January. Then 9pm sky will fabricate a link to get all our hopes up again for nothing to happen.

One can assume with one minute to go in the Italian DLD, that Lazio wont sign Giroud. Still a chance??????
