i dun understand fans’ reluctance on giroud, they seem to be more concerned about rivalries than our own club.

my rivals has always been the ones standing in front of me, posing the most threat, not geographical.

So what Giroud played for arse and chavs? we celebrated Gallas and Adebayor’s goals, we celebrated Graham winning the Worthington cup and now we have a Chavs Legend managing our side. Didn’t Greavsie join us from the Chavs?

Giroud wants first team football till Euros, Jose wants a target man, Lloris, Moussa, Tanguy knows Giroud well. He has PL experience.

Lads, let’s be rational amd head over heart.

Win-Win situation till Chavs pull the plug at 2259 to screw us over.

It makes a lot of sense signing Giroud but I can’t shake the idea that we are being strung along

I think Giroud is a very good option. He has presence, is good in the air, can link play well. He's never been blessed with pace, but the 3/4 players buzzing around him sure as hell were! His one-touch, instinctive finishing is also very underrated.

I'm on-board (y)

Wouldn't believe a word them bastards say, if it was from a donkey's mouth you can take it as gospel.

Minutes are a resource, and signing Giroud would eat minutes that could be given to players in our team that aren't washed stop gaps. The difference between EL and CL isn't gonna be Giroud.

The guy who covers Chelsea for the Athletic has been told (presumably by the club) that they won’t get Mertens now. Probably rules this out completely now.

Personally I’m not hanging my hat or anything else on it happening.

You reckon?

I seem to remember us creating a number of great chances against both Liverpool and Watford in recent weeks which, if taken by a recognised striker, would probably have us 5 points higher than we are right now.

5 points last season was the difference between 4th and 6th, and tens of millions of pounds.

That's the difference 3 goals across two games could make.

It's a game of marginal gains.

i said already but i'd love this, he was great for arsenal and brilliant for france even when not scoring. he might not be fast but we have those players , what we need is a good hold up player who can link up the rest of the team. This is the one i want to happen.

Do we or do we need a finisher to put the ball in the back of the net? That’s what we seem to have missed recently if you ask me. Giroud isn’t a finisher.

With his head he is. And a lot of our attacking threat recently has been from Aurier’s crosses.

Anyone that doesn’t want this to happen is crazy. Forget his past and where he has been.
I’ve never had a problem with Giroud. Always been professional wherever he has gone and never bad mouthed us as a club as well. Keeps himself out of the press and head down which is the kind of player I want at our club.

He looks like a Ken doll though.
