Bolton through. Didn't expect that.

Everton-Brann ... ouch, that result hurts. Everton shoudn't be five goals better, Brann aren't that bad a team. If they were to meet in the CL qualifiers in August Brann would be mid-season and so much more up for it. Sounded like they followed Everton well enough for 45 mins and then switched off/got tired due to lack of match practice.

Some good ties there.

Seeing how the exciting, young talented Lisbonionians do against the hacking dirty bastards of Bolton will be interesting. Should be 3 German sides in the quarters and Dick Advocaat's Zenit side might be the dark horses.

The smart money could be on the Toffees, though. If they aren't distracted by a race for 4th place, they could well be there or therabouts.

And I suppose the 3rd English side in that draw is ok, too.

I found out something interesting today. Germany's coefficient is suffering terribly because of 2003/4. That goes off the books next year. And this year they are doing almost as good as England, even though they had two teams dumped out of UCL. Their UEFA performance is helping a ton. They will jump past France and be right on Italy's tail for 3rd come next year. I didn't realize how disastrous one poor season in Europe could be.

Dumped out of University College London? Would've thought two German teams being chucked out of there would've been reported in the London papers ...

Jokes aside, that is a very interesting point. Also underlines how much Lyon is carrying the French coefficient all by itself.

They're probably still living off when Monaco reached the Champions League final.

that too, which was 03/04 wasn't it? So that result disappears from the French coefficient next year. And will probably leave them in even deeper sh*t.
