football.london understands that Spurs are interested in RB Salzburg's Patson Daka.

The 21-year-old, who can also play out wide if required, scored 24 goals in 31 games in the Austrian top flight and laid on eight assists.

The 6ft tall Zambian also scored in the Champions League last season for Salzburg - the first player from his country to do so.

His pace and ability to run in behind defences will also lend itself to Tottenham's counter-attacking tendencies, while his ability to also move out wide will give him more opportunities to get minutes alongside Kane as well as instead of him.

Finally everyone can quote themselves from the Watkins, Benharima, and Diallo threads into this one and we can consolidate all these conversations :)

The thing I like about that is that he Ali G normally kills the link at the end of the paragraph, not this one ?

Daka is the first striker we’ve been linked to who can be referred to as exciting and with bundles of promise. Fingers crossed this is the one we go for and get over the line.

Considering this is the first actual news story about Daka and Spurs, I think this would qualify as JJ’s under the radar player.

Also in line with Herc’s ITK on 21-25 year olds available at around £25m.

Either that or Gold is just parroting what Gards said with no other sources. I dearly hope we're in for Daka and get it done but I sometimes (ok a lot of the time) think Gold likes to act like he's closer to matters than he actually is.

He'll make PL defenders shit their pants on the counter. Immensely fast but with solid technicals and big potential to improve. Could eventually play alongside Harry rather than being an understudy.

A hard deal to do though- won't be cheap imo.

Scored 4 tonight albeit against complete cannon fodder (think they reside in the Austrian 4th division)

Ally doesn’t work like that.

I’m trying to remember how ally g linked us to Doherty initially, that could give us an indication how this might turn out. Anyways, this is the one I’m desperate for. Someone in the diallo thread said he reminded them of aubameyang, and I hate aubameyang, but he is very good, and the comparison is a good one. Some strikers just seem like natural finishers. Daka is one of them.
