Would it be unheard of for clubs to legitimately agree in principle on a transfer for the upcoming window, pending something like image rights? Or would that all be considered "rumor" until January?

Let's be honest, we were in for him at an end of window 'bargain' price. Some reports even had them paying off some of his wages. I doubt you get that kind of deal at the start of a transfer window let alone before it even opens. Juve would have to be really desperate to close a deal for us to have any chance.

How would a swap between Juven
Latest report from gazetta Della sport in Italy saying Juve and Inter have made first contact over an exchange deal Dybala for Icardi.
Don't shoot the messenger.

This has been mentioned a few times, but I don't understand how this solves the problem Juventus have with their squad being too big and needing money.

it doesn't but they run the team pretty shortsighted though. I could see them totally doing this and just forgetting the debt issue

I watched juventus napoli was 3-3 and he won the freekick then koulibaly smashed into his own net. One of the worst own goals you'll ever see.
