So yea, all this talk of Winks, Sissoko & alternate dimensions is riveting, but Hojbjerg???

IG-88 - bounty hunter.

Taika Watiti played him in the Mandalorian, and directed Thor Ragnarok - we must finally be signing Hulk!

I think if we didn’t have holes throughout our squad I’d be more comfortable offloading Sissoko and Winks this Summer. But if we did that, we would likely need to buy another midfielder, and I simply have no faith in Levy to do that. We would likely address areas of need and then leave ourselves short in midfield, which is pretty important.

The one dimensional CM Sissoko has 8 goals/assists over the past 2 seasons compared to Winks 1. While only having .3 less tackles/interceptions per game.

Winks is our one dimensional midfielder.
While having 3.49 progressive pass per 90 comparing that to Winks 6.15 per 90, stats you love :) That one dimensional midfielder is better passer, someone who creates more shots than Sissoko, is better defensive, better presser and someone with higher success rate for aerial duels and dribbling

Apologies if this has already been posted. This was his game vs us earlier this season. I think the reason that a lot of us noticed him is that while he does make some mistakes he always gets involved. You can tell he has the sort of attitude mou likes.

Yeah certainly doesn't hide

With better players around him there will be less pressure on him to be creative; he can just crack on with his DM duties.

Do you have stats for these? I don't hate Winks by any means, but it doesn't matter who is better out of the two. They should both be back ups

Lamela is important for other reasons. Let me explain

For the past 10 seasons I have had a season ticket next to John. John always brings one of his children, usually James, his son but 4 or 5 games a season he brings his daughter Emma who is now 17. In all this time Emma has never ever seen Spurs lose. Now this is where Lamela comes in. Emma Really fancies Lamela. Sell Lamela and she might stop coming to the games. And that could really cost us wins.

From that I'm getting that if Lamela stays another season then Emma will be 18.

I think your true motivation is pretty obvious.

Also noticeable that when he wins the ball he nearly always looks for a progressive pass forwards rather than playing sideways to the FBs. Him and Lo Celso in tandem would be a great pivot allowing us to play a more creative player as a 10.

Yeah I think the point is that he just does a bit of every thing and is very competitive.

Thanks to the video i now know his name is Hoy-De-Air, not Hold-Berg which i've been referring to him as for about a month.

Not that you idiots would have noticed, given the crap about Winks and Sissoko in here.

Obviously he's not been given the most expansive role in that game, but I think Jose will define his role even further and his remit to go forward will be even more restricted. I think he'll literally be used to simply protect the back 4 and break up play. That's what he's largely done in that game, but he does, on occasion, alternate with Ward Prowse and go forward, whilst WP sits back. For us, I think that allowance to think for himself and go forward, when the time is right, will be removed.

I remember Hojbjerg from the game mentioned in the video. He was a thorn in our side through will more than skill. He is a leader and a fierce competitor, we need that in the middle again.

when Southampton fans say he's wasteful with the ball or football hipsters state "only 75% pass success) what they fail to understand is that he takes more riskier passes and will try to set others away on counter attacks which means there is more chance of ball giveaway.

I'd take that over Sissoko who can't pass accurately forward or Winks who has become a little too safe with his passes. Need someone to play those balls first time in the transition.

Yep. Also the good thing is if Hojbjerg happens to get himself in a good position I think we'd be able to rely on him to be able to pick a pass out. With Sissoko I'm always more shocked if he happens to do the right thing.
