Has anyone read Zlatan Ibrahimovic's autobigraphy?

I've just finished it and I have to say its one of the best footballers books I've read in a long while. He does come across as a bit of a tool at times and his ego is as big as a house but it's refreshing to see a player write a warts an all book, not giving a fuck who he upsets.

He is scathing of Guardiola and his take on the world of football transfers and how things play out behind the scenes is very interesting.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have much good to say about Rafa and if their spat played out like he says Rafa doesn't come out in a great light. However, we only get one side of the story and its VDV so I know whose side I'm on!

He also didn't get on too well with Van Gaal and referred to him as "humourless" and "a pompous arse", which made me laugh but I get the impression that Van Gaal is the type to have personality clashes with players and not tolerate big ego's.

One manager he did praise big time was Capello and tbh its made me think he could be a viable option for us, even if he is getting on a bit. He said he is a winner and puts the fear of god in you but knows how to fire players up.

Anyway, if you like sports autobiograhies, its well worth checking out.

It could easily have been, he is firmly embedded in his own rectum.
In fairness I've never fully believed that he is that egotistical as I think a lot of it is very tongue in cheek and apparently he has a good but very sarcastic sense of humour. Either way I think he has every right to big himself up now and again.

I agree. As I said in the OP, he comes across as a bit of a dick at times but he's achieved a lot in the game. If you read the book he comes from quite a rough, chavvy background which he readily admits. He's very honest and its a case of what you see is what you get. A lot of it is bravado and tongue in cheeck, just to get himself going.

His comments regarding Cappello are intresting. When you actually think about it the only reason people think Cappello is a joke is because of the great British meida hounding him for really no good reason.

I never rated him, read the book & am a massive fan now, he's the master of piss taking & sending himself up & with reflection you look at his career & he's been pretty darn fucking good during it all.

Capello's club record is superb. Titles at Madrid, Milan, Juve, Roma. And then he came to England. Who cares no manager can do anything with England.

I'll have to pick this up, I've still got Alex Ferguson's one to read that I was given for Christmas a few years ago but I keep putting it off.

I have the book but haven't read it yet. Can't help but think of this every time I hear his name though...

Because you're still half-way through this ...

It's ok, it's tough writing an Essay on "The Decline of Writing" and being forced to read this as part of your PhD thesis.

:) :p
