I love Zlatan, he is batshit mental, but also does not score boring goals. I remember him getting goal of the week in Italy for about 8 games running or something, every week something ridiculous. It made me laugh when we played Sweden and he did that crazy overhead kick, the press and most of the public acted surprised, I guess in part because he's rarely done the business for Sweden and that's where most have seen him, but to those that had even seen a brief look at his club career will not have been shocked in the slightest, he is literally capable of anything. Not read the book, but glad to hear it won't disappoint.

I've never understood people who don't rate Ibra as a player, I think he is an absolute star, scores the most amazing goals on a regular basis, produces goals from nothing. I'd love to see him play a season or 2 in the EPL.

Characters like him make the game interesting.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic told to leave France by Front National leader Marine Le Pen

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been forced to apologise after sparking a political row by attacking a referee and calling France a “shit country”.

He can be clearly heard shouting in English: “Wake up, wake up … we’re not amateurs. Fucking asshole. I’ve never seen this in my 15 years playing football. I’ve been playing for 15 years and I’ve never seen [good] refereeing in this shit country. They don’t even deserve PSG in this country.”

I am pretty sure I read Zlatan's Wiki a few times but never noticed this story, great guy :D.

On 11 August 2014, Ibrahimović paid US$51,000 to send the Swedish national football team for the intellectually disabled to the INAS World Football Championships in Brazil. After teammates Johan Elmander, Kim Källström, Andreas Isaksson and Per Nilsson donated autographed jerseys to be auctioned off for the cause, Zlatan responded, "What the hell are you going to do with a shirt? How much is it to go?".

News story here.

I like zlatan. If ever he fancied a game in England at the end of his career I'd love him in a spurs shirt. He's our type of player.

I agree with the OP. Absolutely brilliant read. His life is almost like a fairy tale.

Lovely gesture.

It would have been great if they went on to take the competition by storm but Sweden's results in the competition were ;

France 4 - 1 Sweden
S Africa 10 - 1 Sweden
Sweden 0 - 9 Saudi Arabia

Loved the book and loved Ibra even more after reading it.

Even when I heard that most of it was made up by the ghost writer I still love the fact that Ibra thought it was funny so agreed to let it be released. Would love to know what bits are real and what is made up.

Biggest prick in football

In most professions he would be but in football where you have people like : Savage, Joey Barton, Charlie Adam, Jack Wilshire, Mario B etc I doubt he would make top 20.

Strangely his arrogance makes me like him - I think it's because it's largely tongue in cheek imo. There is no doubt he has proved the doubters wrong though and he has been fantastic. Fair play to him.
