Strangely his arrogance makes me like him - I think it's because it's largely tongue in cheek imo. There is no doubt he has proved the doubters wrong though and he has been fantastic. Fair play to him.

This is a stretch for me. He's been decent. He's got more goals than maybe most would expect at his age but the rest of his play has been pretty poor.

Well his main aim as a striker is to score goals and he has done that extremely well, which is remarkable when you consider his age and that this is his first season playing in the Premiership. What I like about him is that he is able to back up what he says by delivering on the pitch - yes he can say ridiculous things, but like I said I think he says most of it with a twinkle in his eye and I enjoy it.

His eye for goal is still there but he's one of the laziest fuckers on the pitch when he plays. He does bugger all for 80% of the game and then chips in with a goal (albeit quite often) and he's sen as the best player in the prem (by some).

Luckily for Man Utd his minimal contribution is winning them games.

Because you're still half-way through this ...

It's ok, it's tough writing an Essay on "The Decline of Writing" and being forced to read this as part of your PhD thesis.

:) :p

You should read my book if you want to see how far it's declined....

And there's MLS being a retirement home again! He definitely still carries some name value and a lot of hype (that, IMO, he might not be able to justify anymore) but I wonder if he's up to it, or will fizzle out quickly. They are talking about him debuting against LA FC soon. He's 36 and coming off the back of a bad injury, and only played 7 times this season. Also, might be fun to see how he and the manager get along :D

I watched most of the match. It's certainly one of the most entertaining games I've ever seen in MLS.

"The fans demanded something ... I gave them Zlatan".

I don't care that lots of people think he's a cock, I think it's brilliant. It would be so boring without people like him.

His autobiography is one of the best I've read, loved it

The most Zlatan goal imaginable to reach a landmark...

The guy's just unreal. One of the most naturally gifted players of his generation. I get that people don't like him for his arrogance but I think 99% of the time the tongue is firmly in cheek with him and even when he is just being cocky you've got to just hold your hands up because he backs it up on the pitch too.

Imagine if Zlatan had Ronaldo's work ethic.
