When he fully retires I imagine he's going to be some kind of media personality and already has some business interests, so it would make sense to be in the capital.

He already got his fingers in several pies. Game development, vitamin drinks, padel centers, clothing and perfumes, betting company.

I'm expecting more books and stuff as well.

Weeeell..

Zlatan did buy a church in the poshest area of central Stockholm, to remake into a home...

Fair play, although I would still argue that having a house somewhere doesn't make it your home in that kind of romantic sense, especially as he's probably got loads of houses all over. To be fair it's not like he's going to live in some shit hole tower block in Rosengård either way

Yeah exactly. It was just that he has moved on a bit from the poor background.

It's not like anyone with his money would choose to live in Malmö over Stockholm today, with all the shootings and bombings.

Zlatan has more or less adopted the ways of Swedish upper class as it is. He has built a winter cabin in Åre, and he's bought an entire island in the Stockholm archipelago, not to mention that his biggest interest nowadays seem to be big-game hunting and developing his companies.

I'm not having a dig at him. It's just that from my point of view he likes milking his own Oliver Twist story and it has very little or nothing at all to do with his persona today.

It absolutely is a part of what made him, but I hope he even tries to distance himself from it a bit because of how he lives today. Just play on the success story that it actually is.

I don't see the point this. Maybe his name can pull some sponsors, but that's about it.
Well he's pissed off all the Malmo fans who recently erected a lifesize statue of him outside their ground so fuck knows why he's chosen this team to get involved with considering he could lose the legacy he's had with the Malmo lot? Very strange

Indeed. I don't understand the rage though. If he would return as a player to another club than Malmö then yeah, that's one thing. But as an 25% owner of a club in Sweden, he can't do a lot. Clubs in Sweden obey under the 51% rule which means that the majority of the club is owned by the fans. He won't have that much power, except maybe for commercial purposes. He wants to make Hammarby global, good luck with that.

I don't know how much he actually cares about the people in Malmö anymore.

Yeah, I live in Malmö and I can tell first hand that people are pissed off. Especially, the hardcore Mamö FF fans. I thought it was quite funny when someone hung a toilet seat on the statues arm a few days ago, but the racist slurs that were painted in the vicinity of the statue last night is embarrassing and wrong on so many levels. I'm certain that it's kids that are doing this.

His home in Stockholm was targeted as well.

I think people who aren't interested in football are just taking their chance to do some damage while everyone is angry.
