Sky sports match ratings are hilarious.

Gave our lot 5s and 6s, whilst giving their lot pretty much 8s across the board

Far too much back passing tonight rather than trying to influence the game going forward - chose the easy backwards option virtually every time which meant there was no outlet for the defence.

No agenda at all as I’d love to see one of our academy graduates do well, but at the moment I’d rather it was Skipp played rather than Winks on recent performances.

Will always support anyone wearing the shirt, but I think the big thing is that he didn't really want the ball. You can see when Lo Celso and Lamela come in they are two people that really want it.

Today Winks was getting himself in decent positions to receive it but his body language isn't truly asking for it. Gets us in trouble because the defenders then aren't comfortable passing to him and we can't build the play. When he got on it he wasn't bad. I agree he could have looked forward more but he kept things ticking along. Just needs to want to get on it more!

I thought Winks was great. He can handle the tempo.

We could do better than him, but he's not as bad as many make him look. He needs a good partner in CM or his weaknesses get exposed. That means no Dier or Sissoko

There’s such agenda against Winks it’s fucking unreal.
There comes a point where people only see the negatives and winks has reached that point with some.

I've been there with players but like to feel I'm a bit more balanced now...:mask:

I agree that Winks has to improve in some areas, like passing the ball forward more often. But today you can't blame him. He had to carry Eriksen through the game. And in the first half, it was tough to do something for Winks, because many of our offensive players were too deep, with only an isolated Moura up front. After Eriksen was subsituted, we got better control of the game and Winks made more forward passes I still think he has to improve a lot, but in this game, I have to defend him.

Defence was superb. Minus Rose. Tanganga. Absolute beast mode. Sanchez. Solid.

midfield. Dele. Ponderous. Eriksen. Utter shit.

Rest. Tried hard.

Mourinho Man of the match. Tactics spot on and on another day if we had our shooting boots on we could of won this game. Very unlucky in the end and Ive not seen Pool hang on like that for a long time

Gazza - 6
Rose - 4 (hurry back Ben!)
Davinson - 8
Toby - 7
Tanganga - 8 (probably a 7 because of the goal but it was his debut so...)
Aurier - 7
Winks - 7 (actually thought he was pretty good)
Eriksen - 3 (didn’t deserve the boos though)

I dont bother rating them all but for me: Tanganga, Sanchez and maybe and this is an unpopular opinion but Eriksen. Eriksen for me did a good job tonight. You could see he was knackered coming off
I don’t understand this. His short free kick nearly gave them a goal. What did he actually do? I’m perplexed by this

Jose has gotta stop picking Rose and Eriksen though as they just don’t have the fight in them.

With Rose I’m not sure if it’s his head has gone and he can’t be bothered or if he‘s just losing his athleticism, which was his main trait.

Although sloppy passing just makes me think he doesn’t give a shit anymore tbh, in which case he should be frozen out.

I think this is pretty much spot on - would knock 1 off sonny for his crap shooting today and maybe added 1 to Winks for effort.

Better overall attitude from the start and we looked solid. However some sloppy play and lack of any idea except the long hopeful up and unders lobbed from the back.

The second half we came out with more intensity but until the subs we did not have enough players on the pitch who could pass through the opposition. The last 20 minutes we were excellent and deserved something out of the game.

Anyway I left feeling we at least made a game of it which was more than I expected. Mourinho after being out thought in most of the games so far at least seemed to have done some work on the defence.

Rose and Eriksen should be left at home in bed. They were truly shocking. Dele not great until the last 20 mins when he could do what he does best.

Sanchez remains the heart of our defence but today had Tanganga to add some legs plus aggression to his side. An excellent first outing.

Oh Sanchez MOTM

Sanchez MOM by a mile. He was sublime today. Special mention for Tanganga on an impressive debut playing in 2 unaccustomed positions and Lucas for working his socks off. He has his limitations but you can’t fault his effort.
At the other end of the spectrum, Eriksen was woeful- too slow closing down or picking a pass and don’t get talking about his set pieces- Rose hardly completes a pass all game and until Eriksen was substituted he was as bad as him on and off the ball. He improved markedly after Eriksen went off.

Don't see how you can make Mourinho MOM when he puts 'powder puff' Eriksen in the middle of the park, watches him be utter shite for what seemed like forever before eventually bringing on Lo Celso who has made stuff happen every time he's got on the pitch.
