Though I posted (info only), I cannot see CE to RM myself, as our Daniel wants a fair whack (under 100m) for him, and they refuse to pay that amount.

Every article with Madrid bias, suggests this is an easy deal that they can wrap it up in a week before pre season, hence its on the list. Despite his contract situation and desire to leave, I just don't think that will be the case.

If Madrid ends up wanting him, we’re going to be in a pretty tough position. He’s already said he wants a new challenge and has one year left on his contract. If Madrid puts 70m on the table, it’s pretty hard to see us holding out considering the alternative of losing him for free.

If Madrid wants him, they may dicker for wrleeks and pull out at the last minute unless we give him for less.
He doesn't want to stay I don't think. We need one more punter in so we can have some leverage. One buyer is not good enough in this situation and can't see him signing with us uess it's bumper.

One more scary thing to add to the pile of scary things around the Eriksen transfer/contract situation is the closure of the PL transfer window before the European club window. I dread the prospect of Real Madrid putting together a bid that we would find financially acceptable as of today, but only deciding to make the offer after our window has already closed. With Eriksen out of contract at the end of the season, I can't see us rejecting an acceptable financial offer on the grounds that we wouldn't be able to use the funds to sign a replacement (until January), and so I could potentially see us losing Eriksen this summer with no one coming in to replace him, let alone strengthen the squad.

Nightmare scenario, right there.

FIFA have the English and Spanish windows both shutting on 2nd September.

That’s irrelevant...
The EPL voted to shut the transfer window before the season starts.

So whilst I like that date, nowhere else in Europe is conforming to it, so we are again rather shooting ourselves in the foot.

Levy is working I'm sure. If he spends weeks nego over 5 or 10 mil then protecting his asset (sic) is most important now
70mil is a lot of bread.

I think this might be the reason why there was news about Levy calling Real Madrid and offering them Eriksen.

The Mirror are reporting that Madrid want to offer Asensio to Pool in a swap for Mane. I doubt there’s any validity at all, but would love him if they’re up for losing him and want Eriksen.

Don’t see how they’d need him when they play him left wing most of the time (iirc), and they have Hazard, Vinicius Jr and that Rodrygo guy, who I think plays there too.

Apparently we were interested in asensio a few weeks back but Madrid didn’t want to sell so they wanted us to lay the full release clause just £600m

They are quoting the Express and the article is written by Mr. 'Spurs to sign Berahino in 48 hours'

Hashtag Arrested.

Don't stand for that, @Spurrific, he's only a PCSO, you can take him.

Sounds as good as done then?

I don’t acknowledge or respect the authority bestowed upon him by A&C. I don’t want to upset the apple cart, but A&C asked me to take on the role first. When I said, “I’m too busy and important in real life” he sadly had to settle for @THFCSPURS19

Maybe this is all true, but at least I am not a pussy who deletes their tweet because they are too scared they are going to be blocked by 'Get French Football News'.

I was also offered the role, but later had the invitation revoked on the grounds that I was considered to be “too sexually virile for a post which demands an oath of lifelong celibacy”.

Did this happen to anyone else?
