I know people wont be happy with Poch saying this but I can understand it if Eriksen is devois of confidence that you dont want to stick the boot in. Although must admit im dissappointed as I reckon this means he will continue to try and play him into form and I dont think for a team desperate for points we have that luxury.

I don’t think he’s lacking confidence at all. I just don’t think he gives a fuck anymore

It's heartbreaking to see Eriksen like this, for about 3 seasons he was probably our best player and now he's just a shell of what he once was. It genuinely angers me when I see him play these days as he alone is responsible for his shocking performances and effort levels. He doesn't want to be here and he's made that quite clear.

Worst of all though is Poch and his staff unfathomably continuing to pick the guy... I'm not sure if they're blind, inept or doing it as some sort of joke (or maybe a combination of all 3?) but surely they can see what we're all seeing and that his presence is detrimental to the team. The minutes he is undeservedly getting could and should be going to players like Lo Celso, Sess, Skipp etc.

I have never been Poch out, but the longer he keeps making the same mistakes, awful decisions and his post-match comments when we've been pitifully hideous to watch saying 'the performance was good', the more it's making me think he's taken us as far as he can and that he won't be able to turn this around. I love the guy and how he's transformed the club but we are quite clearly regressing. Based on how much he's done for the club so far, does he deserve to stay and fight for his job for the rest of season? It's a tough one.
I think the problem isn't that he actively wanted to leave Spurs. The problem was he saw this as his time to join an elite club.

Problem was his performances last season resulted in none of the elite clubs having any real desire to sign him.

I think he is mentally struggling to deal with this.

A real shame for all parties involved.

I'm afraid that he is not just talking bullshit but that is what he actually thinks. One of many signs that makes me feel he is not able to turn our form around.
That is a concern.

It is rarely a good idea for a manager to criticise a player in public. Just hoping this is Poch adhering to this rather than believing hat he is saying.

Of course I'm not expecting him to tell that Eriksen is shit and that he needs to do better to even get into bench. But his lates comments about Dele, who wasn't exactly in his best lately, where much different. And we can see some progress in Dele form. And then he tells he is fine with Eriksen and Eriksen plays constat shit. That is why I think he really don't see any problem with his form.

Poch probably still hopes he will renew his contract. But at the point Lo Celso has to be picked ahead of him. He is the future Eriksen is the past and the sooner Celso gets match fit and adapts to the league the better for Spurs. It really is that simple.

For the longest time if Eriksen has a poor game so does the whole team. An earlier poster said to play Lo Celso and then sub Eriksen in for him at 65-75 minutes to allow him to get up to speed and this seems a sensible way forward. If the issue is confidence/form then you aren't dropping him completely and he knows he'll get more chances to regain that confidence/form.

Seems the best for all at the moment.

It's quite possible that if no one comes in for him he'll sign a new contract and Poch is trying to play him into form because despite his form being atrocious he is still working hard, it's just that he's an entirely average player when off form

Even personal annoyances aside, it's getting to the point where I feel having him in the side is really detrimental to our play. I desperately don't want to see him starting tomorrow.

Another reason to seriously question Poch. Eriksen has been terrible for a year now.

He’s got even worse this season and Poch keeps playing him and is now saying Eriksen is playing how he always has. Does Pock take us fans for fools? What a mess we are in this season. Please go Poch and take Eriksen with you.
