Eriksen man...

Let's face it if he can't motivate himself to play under Mourinho then I don't think he's going to be much use for Real or Barca.

Needs to sort his head out now, he's got no excuses.

In all fairness, you can not judge much by today's game. We practically had no offensive play after 65th minute and I would not single out Eriksen for that. He actually did more tackles than usual, though that is a pretty low benchmark.

Here's to hoping he'll give it his best under Mourinho.

We have GLC, Lamela and Alli who can play his position and will probably go for Bruno Fernandes again in January/Summer. He wants a change of scenery and move to a different league, he is mentally fucked and so no need to play him anymore.

I imagine Jose will be jumping for joy learning GLC naturally defends as much as he creates

I’d hope Mourinho might bring on Lo Celso next time although can see why he might have wanted to give Eriksen a chance.

This man is never ever going to be good enough for the clubs he wants to join. He doesn’t realise it yet but he’s currently as high as he can go imo. He’ll look back on his career when done and have regret imo.

He’s shown he doesn’t have it mentally to be elite level. You think Ronaldo and co would play like he is because he’s not got what he wanted? Of course not. They’d still do the business

The advantage of having a fresh pair of eyes in charge is that he (hopefully) won't take any of this nonsense from Eriksen. If he doesn't perform, he'll be gone in January (or he at least won't be playing if that's not the case). If he can't pick himself up to play for one of the most decorated managers in football he has serious motivational issues.

Glad that Jose hasn't beat round the bush, he's removed all doubt on the situation. Thought it was good he still gave him an opportunity today and I was hopeful when he made a tackle instantly but he struggled. I suspect that Lo Celso will quickly work his way up the pecking order but we do need this type of player.

It will be fascinating to watch Jose's man management with Christian. Given the pre-game comment and then putting him in when he did, he has to be throwing him a lifeline (or putting him on display for january). Whether right or wrong, i'm guessing he isn't ready to put him on ice. while it goes against popular opinion, it makes economic sense if you can resurrect his career but i'm guessing it is a very tight window for him to show improvement and lots of it.

Win our first game under our new manager, first game away in 2019, play pretty well for the most part....

oh I know, let’s all hammer Eriksen for not being great when he came on during a period in which the opposition had momentum.

Yeah, I think he even made a tackle but for the most part was non existent. But so was the rest of team for the entirety he was on. Would have preferred lo Celso for his energy and more tenacity than Eriksen offers at this point. Dele was clearly exhausted at about 60 min and would have switched them at that point.

Win our first game under a new manager who makes an interesting pre game comment about wantaway star who then continues to underperform. Of course people have something to say
