He does hit the first man a lot but I also think people have an out dated view of what a corner is in the modern game. Back in the day you could hit a big lofted ball into the box and there was a roll of the dice chance that it would get nodded in.

These days keepers will just come out and collect them pretty much every time. You can't muscle a keeper out the way like you used to be able to.

Again though I'm not saying he doesn't hit the first man frustratingly often. (y)

Not gonna lie I for one would not be surprised if we bought no one in forward positions but ended up selling him at the end of the window, it's why we have to do business regardless. Is Levy really gonna reject a semi-large offer from anyone at the end of the window, regardless of whether we've done any business or not when he knows it's that or nothing?

We'll announce the permanent signing of Lo Celso on deadline day in an attempt to appease the fans.

We need to stop playing him.

He’s robbing others of minutes.

When Lo Celso came on Eriksen should have hung his head in shame as Lo Celso did what Eriksen failed to do all game... pass and move, and creating chances. Not walking pace, backwards/sideways tippy tappy nonsense.

Not really. People have been saying this stuff for years.

Completely agree. No-one wanted to sell him while when he was playing well every week.

Well he isn't playing well now, has half a season lefr on contract and won't sign a new one. Keep / sell should be no brainer.

You mean, they didn’t even reach you?

One in the 2nd half reached someone at the opposite end of the stand lol... think it was when he was aiming for Alli and fired it over his head and out for a throw in ?

We all know that Eriksen’s form has dipped over the last 15-18 months. We have all assumed that the contract talks and transfer speculation was the root cause of the form dropping off the edge of a cliff. Whilst this has certainly been a factor in his downturn of form I always go back to the quotes from the Danish coach in October 2018

At the time Eriksen was out with a mysterious stomach injury and whilst we were concerned we just wanted him back on the pitch as soon as possible. In time Eriksen did return but his form always struggled to reach the heights of before that injury.

Chronic injuries are defined as long term illnesses where an individual has to adapt to the demands and therapy’s available.

I suffer from Crohn’s disease which is a chronic illness and immediately thought our Dane had the same or similar disease. Other famous sporting celebrities who have similar diseases are Darren Fletcher (his struggle was well publicised) and rugby player Lewis moody.

If my theory about Eriksen and his lack of form are right then I think we should all cut him a bit more slack. I’m not saying this is the reason for his form declining but I don’t think he ever came back the same player after that mysterious injury. Anyway I thought I would just offer another plausible explanation as to the shocking decline in our once great Dane.

For me the future is a new DM with Lo Celso and Ndombele working in front of that DM and for Eriksen to re establish his career elsewhere as soon as possible.

I remember this and I think you are right on the timing. I think it was described as an abdominal injury. Wouldn't be surprised if it's a combination of the contract ,some injury and being over played in the last 4-5 years.
