In an interview I read after he left he intimated that he was made to play through injury and players were scared to admit to being injured to management / coaching staff as it didn’t go down well.

With him insisting on playing in a meaningless international playoff after he supposedly sustained a serious game ending injury just days before, then at best we can conclude Trippier had no idea when he was injured or fit to play.
