He stayed too long with us.

It’s always hard when a player leaves in what seems to be his prime, but the last 18 months shows the flip side of keeping a player who needs a new challenge.

We’d all have been better off had he gone in summer 2018. Us receiving the money to invest in the team, and him not suffering from the steep decline that a lack of motivation can bring.

A top player at his best but, like so many of this squad, not quite top class enough to bring us success. Wish him well but the fact he’s moving to Inter Milan instead of Barca, Madrid etc really says all you need to know.

And then we would have had the media and fans labelling us as a 'selling club' and that Daniel Levy has 'no ambition' etc.. etc..

I feel sad that he has gone, but he really hasn’t been putting in 100% for such a long time that we’re better off moving on. Truly mixed feelings about this one.

There is a picture on Twitter of him doing a selfie with the inter fans behind him so this looks to be done now.

Seems happy.

€20m euros now for eriksen is a masterstroke, rather he goes to inter for that than for €40m to man utd last summer.

This is essentially €1m for every week of his contract left!

There was a time whenever the ball went to Eriksen my anticipation would rise, thinking something would likely happen. In truth that's a long time ago now. Hope he does well in Italy - he has ll the tools to tear it up over there. Hopefully we can forget the last 18 months now and remember the good times. Good luck to him - Onwards and upwards for us.

Not if we'd moved quickly with an adequate replacement. Really we should have got Lo Celso/someone similar in to learn under Eriksen, ease them in as his replacement - like we are now seeing with Lo Celso himself - but two years ago.

Should have also done this with Dembele.

A fantastic player no doubt and feeling sad because of a main XI player is leaving, but he could have really earned himself a legendary status if not for the withdrawn form for the last 12-18 months. How could some of you excuse that and slagged off some of us for feeling let down by him is really beyond me. He has alot to thank the club for as much as the fans are thanking him - the club gives him the platform to rise to this occasion and status (which could have been even bigger). The view from some fans is almost like the club owes him this transfer.

Thought I'd made my peace with this one, but still sad to see him go. For the most part, it's been an absolute pleasure to watch him in our team although that time sadly passed awhile ago. Hopefully we can push on with less uncertainty now.

Strange how little I care about this. I know he's a very good player, but I never really took to him in the way that I have with someone like Son, or did with someone like Dembele.

Couldn't really give much of a shit tbh, particularly when he hasn't played well for the best part of 12 months.

Levy really messed this 1 up did'nt he.

18 months ago we could have got £80m for him.

18 months ago we would have lynched Levy for selling our best players. At least for us it was not obvious how much Eriksen will decline, neither I think for anyone at the club.

I am glad its over now. He was truly awesome until 2019, but for too long now he was going on my nerves and I am looking forward to the hopefully succesful Bergwijn (fingers crossed) and GLC-era.

I dont think that was ever possible I dont think any of the clubs that could pay that were really ever interested and all in all considering his contract sitauation and staring down the barrel at losing him on a free i think we have done well under the circumstances

Anyway besy of luck to him there has been some great Eriksen moments, that goal away @ City always stood out to me like Lennons pass to Crouch in Milan

I'm inclided to disagree as no one with that sort of money seems to want him now he's going cheap, but Barca did pay £140 million for a very similar player in Coutinho 18 months or so ago.

Levy will think of that and cringe I should imagine.

Eriksen overall has been fantastic for us, he really has been one of the best players I've seen at the lane and he really is a very, very good player.

However for me the club comes first, and if you start consistently putting in half-arsed performances for the remaining 12+ months of your time with us then I'm not gonna be happy and you will lose some of my respect. When you put on the shirt you put in the effort, there is no excuse. Both Janssen and Soldado did not work out for us but they tried their hardest every game and we as fans appreciate that.
If it's becoming a chore for you when you pull on our shirt then it's time for you to fuck off.

couldn't of said it better myself. had he of not put in those performances, not one of us would have begrudged him a move, but now its all sour. im sure in time we will all forgive and forget, but right now, glad to see the back of him.
