Some on here seem to think that leeway should be allowed to players for past performances in Eriksen case poor form for the last 9 months.
In that case we should still have Jimmy Greaves in our team wheelchair and all as he has 100 times the credit of the likes of Eriksen.
No of course this should not be the case Eriksen does not warrant a starting place I would sooner see the likes of Skipp at least you can be sure he will give 100%.

That wasn't actually aimed at you I agree with your sentiments, it was aimed at those who think that Eriksen has a fan club and all that crap.
Let it go man. I said it tongue in cheek. You always seem to let even the simplest of things bother you.

He may have been our best player for years but life and football does not progress by living in the past, he just does not really warrant a place in the team at the moment.
Loved him and will miss the Eriksen we had, the one that scored free kicks etc. But it appears that model has since long departed, would rather him not in the starting line up f from now on, let's blood a player that will be here next season.
We may be alienating players that will be here next season and beyond by letting him and his now all too frequent poor displays continue.
I do not see how anyone can disagree with this argument. At the end of the day I want to see the best and most in form player playing in the first eleven or squad, irrespective of who they are. Eriksen at the moment does not meet these criteria, but hopefully he will turn it around. But the whole transfer saga make me have my doubts

You don't get City fans going hot and cold with Du Bruyne there's a reason for that .
That reason is he turns up every time he plays.
Not once in nine months (Brighton) .

The reason *I'M* pissed at Eriksen isn't because he's not as good as people think (he IS that good), it's because he doesn't seem to give a shit about Spurs anymore.

I don't see why anyone would do anything other than wait to get him on a free in the summer sadly

Juve might, but they'd only pay about 10/15m I reckon. Sad state of affairs. A very inglorious end to one of the most talented players I've seen in a Spurs shirt
A player's price is a key part of how the whole system works.
A player's salary is often based on his worth, but if he has joined on a free then that confuses things. It could be based on his theoretical value, but the chances are the player will run their next contract down too, so their financial value is still zero.
Their salary could be based on how well they play, but that is often subjective, and the owners and accountants only understand numbers.

Plus no-one likes an agitator who wants to change a system that has made a lot of people very rich.

Hope Poch was just being diplomatic to the press and said something different behind closed doors when he said he was pleased with Eriksen’s performance against Olympiacos.

Why not just lie on the Internet?

Without looking in any depth:

Also fans rated him motm in our other matches.

He still might end up at Real in January. Cant see Zidane lasting much longer there. They will pull the trigger soon.

If they do get rid of him I'll be more worried about Poch going there than Eriksen. I wonder if he'd want to take him with him if he did go?

I've come to the conclusion that it's pointless trying to discuss players form and performances as its so subjective. Eriksen's made it to the shortlist for the FIFPRO team of the year which is voted for by professional players and yet you get people on here saying he's been crap for a year. The truths probably somewhere in between. He's had some great games which players have probably seen on TV, but he's probably also had a few stinkers that they haven't.

.
He does also admit that it probably wasn’t his best game.

So he didn't say he was pleased with his performance vs Olympiakos. At all. Ever. It has just been made up and the someone starts getting concerned about Poch.

People here are so fragile and easliy manipulated. Well over 50% of the stories we see and hear are rubbish - in sport or in the news- people should toughen up mentally.

We should all be Eriksen fan boys or whatever that is meant to be

Absolutely cringe at that fan boy statement by the way, it's something generally that kids would say.

He did, at first he says he’s happy with his commitment but later he says he was happy with his performance.
here is what he said:
"I was happy with Eriksen's performance [against Olympiakos]," Pochettino said at his press conference on Thursday. "Maybe yesterday wasn't his best game - like the team - but I think the quality of the performance wasn't the best from us.

I think we look a much better team with Eriksen in it. You make it sound like he has been constantly bad, but it's not true. He has been inconsistent. Right now, however, we have better balance with him in it, and we are better with him in it too.

I mean I kind of believe that we should try out a 4-3-3, and in that formation we could do without CE. I would also free up winks, and play him as an 8 where I think he has much more potential.

Winks (GLC) Dier (Skipp) Ndombele (Sissoko)

Son (Dele) Kane (Parrott) lucas (Lamela)

I really see this as our future. However, with Eriksen still in the team, right now we just look better with him than without him, regardless of form.

The club had agreed terms with Tottenham's Christian Eriksen and Ajax's Donny van de Beek, but Zidane stopped the moves because Pogba was the midfielder he wanted.
Correctly mind. Eriksen simply is not the answer to Madrid's problem, nor does van de Beek. He does not fit into the role they need. Pogba would. If Madrid were to take a player from us that would actually improve them, they should go for Sissoko. Obviously, Sissoko is not the 'big name player' they would like but it would improve them. No idea why they didn't go big for someone like Kante tbh.
