It's been so obvious he's been set on a free transfer signing to Madrid for many months. Signing a player of that level, whilst not elite, is a no brainer. Even if he's just making up the numbers at Madrid, there's no downside for them really.

The biggest disappointment for me is how his performances went so far downhill, for so long. I guess the caveat to that is everyones performances went downhill so maybe it was more a case of the manager as on Tuesday we saw glimpses of the old Eriksen. There's no doubt a fully motivated Eriksen is an asset to any squad.

I don't blame him in the slightest. If we were in his shoes we would do the same. You either play him and get the best out of him now, or get rid now., even for free. I still maintain though he is not the player he was. There has been a lot of Pochettino miles in those legs and I can only see him being a failure at Real.

IMO, you're either in or you're out. If there's any truth in the above rumour he's out. Put him on gardening leave til he goes and give his shirt to somebody with a bit of committment.

Assuming he signs a pre-contract with Madrid (as expected) we should send him early for a small fee, don't need him hanging around.

If we see an upturn in form why are we going to leave him out?

The best way to handle Eriksen, given the the latest news, is to keep him on the periphery only using him if we're desperate.

Lo Celso must be given more playing time, and ahead of Eriksen in the pecking order.

From here on in Eriksen is a last resort.

Because we don't want others thinking it's plain sailing if you run your contract out.

Hazard and Ramsey helped their respective teams when they were leaving, it could be the same situation with Eriksen.

True but we've got a big (potential) investment in Lo Celso in a similar position and both those players were carrying their respective teams at the time.

I can understand why Jose wants to use Eriksen because he's a well known player who I'm sure he's watched countless times and knows what he can bring and that's fine for the very short term but we need to prioritise Lo Celso as soon as we can, we need to build for the future and he is it.

Jose said that Erisken being picked or not depends entirely on his future. If his future is decided like this (which I doubt because they're not allowed to talk for another few weeks) then that's it, he no longer gets picked.

Obviously not true that post.

Like Gassin said, Jose said he would only pick him if he's committed.

You can argue if you're committed enough if you run down your contract, I think it depends on a few things.

But the manager should rely on the players that are here for the future, and not someone who's not here.

I hope we get more clarity in the next few weeks.

Who are El Desmarque?
Anarchist agitators, a bit of a shady organisation really, nobody knows that much about them. Part ninja, part transformers with a bit of Bagpuss thrown in, they spread falsehood and misinformation by the internet and graffiti on toilet walls.

if true, it’s time to bin him from the playing squad and focus on players who will be here in the future - such as Lo Celso.

I personally think we've gone way too far down that road already, but that was on Poch. I hope Mourinho is looking to the future now because Lo Celso is a big part of that. If Eriksen is still intent on leaving there's no upside to us playing him that I can see and as you say, it sends a bad message to other players to keep playing him inspite of his stance and is a slap in the face to others who would give everything if they were given a chance.
