Sincerely hope it's true that his move is now imminent. Hopefully Herc's bit of info from a few days ago that we'd look at defensive midfield options if we were able to move him remains true.
Where's this info? Cheers.

Glad to hear his conduct has been oh so professional through this. Pity he hasn't been conducting himself on the pitch with even a modicum of drive or effort.

I'm guessing Herc means that the bid being accepted from Inter is true as well as Barca's enquiry. I guess that could put a huge spanner in the works for Inter as I'm sure he would pick Barca over them if the bid was matched.

What`s Christians problem? Why doesn`t he want to play for us any more? I could understand his desire for a move to Real or Barcelona, but Inter..?! Seems like he just wants a move far away from London and Spurs. Why?

Problem will be if Barcelona offer him a deal for the summer now but no January move.

He’d probably prefer Barca than inter and we lose out on money.

A footballers career is relatively short. He wants to experience a different culture, and by all accounts, he'll be earning less at Inter than we offered him, so it looks like it's not a case of just paying lip service.

I imagine he's always had aspirations of playing at the highest possible level and merely used us as a stepping stone to get to the Barca and Real level clubs.

However what he doesnt seem to realise is that neither of those clubs seem to think he's as good as he thinks he is.

He's clearly stopped caring about playing for us, which you can see on how he has played for over a year now, but he would have had a better chance in getting to those clubs he desires had he actually been putting in the performances we know he's capable of.

Exactly this. Eden Hazard wanted a move to Real Madrid so he went out and proved he was worthy of that move. Eriksen's performances wouldn't even attract Everton and they would sign anyone that moves.

Inters form has been incredible this season and obviously have an upward trajectory. With the introduction of Eriksen they could be another step closer to winning that league, which im sure he's well aware of. All the best to him, just grateful he isn't staying in the prem.

I think it's an interesting debate about Eriksen's professional conduct vs his drop of form on the pitch, contrasting to Bale/Modric going on strike, and what is better for the club. If you don't give your all on the pitch isn't that a disrespect for the badge as well? You also have the situation where it drags on and on and makes the club look stupid, I can see the arguments for both sides.

Overall I think Eriksen has acted professionally and it is commendable that he has consistently been available. He has actually made quite a few key contributions in the last 18 months, as well as dropping a load of stinkers. The late winner vs Brighton was crucial for our top 4 finish for example. By all accounts he has also been very upfront about his plans to leave, and is well within his rights to do so. He also turned down Man Utd, so his argument for a new culture and experience has been upheld. Looking at all that it's a decent outcome, and he doesn't deserve to be booed by our fans. However even he must appreciate he has been an absolute passenger at times, and has let his standards slip so far, even if unintentional that is always going to be noticed, as it is due to the uncertainty he has created. Spurs fans are totally in their rights to want him out ASAP.

If he goes to Inter for a small profit I will wish him well and thank him for the memories, he has been one of my favourite players, just a shame the memory will be clouded by a disappointing end.

If his heart isn’t at this club anymore, then it’s best that we let him go, irrespective of which club he lands at (although preferably not one in the PL).

This shouldn't have been allowed to drag on this long. It was likely clear 2 seasons ago that he wanted to move on, and wouldn't sign a new contract. We should have made moves to sell him back then for the huge fee that he would have got, and tbf the player could have helped with that.

Otherwise, one of the best players we've had here since the 80's. His numbers speak for himself, but when he's on top form, he's just a joy to watch. Absolutely superb footballer, and so key to the Poch revolution. I wish him all the best and every success in Italy. Playing every other week at the San Siro must be a dream.

Ciao, Christian.
