I hope people don't remember him as he was the last six to twelve months. Before that, he really drag us up the table single-handedly at times and was a huge component to where we are now. It's sad it's ending the way it is - with boos and a general disquiet about him - but he's done a lot for us and not really kicked up a fuss about his move.
Good luck, Eriksen. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do elsewhere.
Eriksen overall has been fantastic for us, he really has been one of the best players I've seen at the lane and he really is a very, very good player.
However for me the club comes first, and if you start consistently putting in half-arsed performances for the remaining 12+ months of your time with us then I'm not gonna be happy and you will lose some of my respect. When you put on the shirt you put in the effort, there is no excuse. Both Janssen and Soldado did not work out for us but they tried their hardest every game and we as fans appreciate that.
If it's becoming a chore for you when you pull on our shirt then it's time for you to fuck off.
As much as he's been shite in recent times, he was always a consummate professional and a decent bloke. Never a player that I truly loved but you could make a strong case for him being the single most important player throughout the Poch era (alongside Kane at least). Without his creativity in the side we always looked a completely different team.
All the best Christian! Hope he does well in Italy.
If Levy gets around the £20M he wanted then we haven't done too badly out of this. We've probably saved around £15M on wages over the last couple of years as he stayed on a lower wage rather than matching Harry's earnings. That's a large part of the cost of Lo Celso paid off.
All the best wishes CE. You could have been a contender with us but just lacked that extra 5% that all the truly great players have. Never turned up for a semi or final but you gave us some brilliant memories. All the very best of luck mate and I hope you win a medal soon. You are still Spurs family BTW.
Absolutely brilliant footballer, one of my favourites for sure. I guess in a way I should be thankful that he lost his way for the last 12-18 months as I should be feeling devastated right now, like I was when Bale left. Best for all parties to move on. Glad he isn't playing for a rival. Good luck to him at Inter.
I think this just feels ok because I've had so long to get used to the fact it was always going to happen. If it was a transfer that just came out of the blue, even with his form over the last 12 months, I think there would be absolute uproar. He's been brilliant for us on the whole, and we've definitely got our 11 million pounds worth from him. You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
Will remember the good times more than the bad, the divorce went on for to long. Hope he enjoys Italy and finds his feet quickly but continues to hit the first man from corners as that would be funny.
This will be a relief when he's finally confirmed and gone, will do the squad the world of good if we can move him on and also Rose so we can get the new group all pulling in the right direction.
He's been so sub-par for so long that i'm intrigued to see whether he is able to quickly turn it on again for Inter or if this is actually his new level. Wouldn't be out of the realms of possibility that he's actually run himself into the ground with so much football from a young age and lost his magic before the age 30 - in a similar way to Alexis Sanchez when he moved to Man U.
Alongside Kane Eriksen has probably been the most productive player I have seen at the Lane since the great team of 87. I for one have nothing but positive views of him. We paid £11m, looks like we have made £16m after paying Ajax %, and paid out circa £23m wages for a player that was never injured and represented THFC very very well!
