At this point our best option may well be to try and negotiate a release.

He can go even without a replacement imo, ideally I’d like one but wouldn’t have a problem with Davies, verts, sess and cirkin until the summer

Jose Mourinho and Danny Rose in bust-up with 'big tension in the air'
EXCLUSIVE BY SIMON JONES: Danny Rose was involved in a heated exchange with Jose Mourinho after being left out of Saturday's game against Watford.www.dailymail.co.uk
Something tells me this will end far worse for Danny than it will for Jose
This squad is really souring. Such a disappointment. I agree with others about seeing if he’d be open to a move or negotiating his release. From what was a player who always seemed to give it his all to basically the only thing he’s done over the past year or 2 is create headlines for reasons outside of the pitch. It’s just old at this point.
Unfortunately paying off his contract is not an option. What does that say to any other player with a couple of years left who wants to leave? Cause a load of fuss and strop around the place and get your contract paid up and collect a nice signing on fee from another club? It’s a precedent you don’t want to create.I just can't believe the absolute joke of him wanting an explanation for being left out of the squad. Does lhe really need one or is he just a total trouble maker. Pay him off for goodness sake.
He is massively part of the problem and needs to go. I’ve not been keen on him since he disrespected the club and his team mates with that sun interview. We should of turfed him out then but we’re weak and kept him on.
I can understand him not being sold last summer though. Sessegnon was injured and we didn’t know when Davies was back after his hernia operation. We had no other left back.
A bit like when Pochettino came in, there was a need to get rid of the deadwood and the bad apples. I think Mourinho has similarly identified the players he trusts, and also the players that he wants to move on. There isn't much of Spurs future for Rose, Vertonghen, Eriksen, Wanyama, KWP and Foyth. He is massively part of the problem and needs to go. Well at least stop putting him in any squads then. Not sure if he is still expecting to be considered for the England euro squad. Probably is, based on his reaction to being left outUnfortunately paying off his contract is not an option. What does that say to any other player with a couple of years left who wants to leave?
