There is another possibility - the system doesn't work. Maddison, Benta, Biss, Kulu, they all look poor. Watch the first couple of minutes and see Biss hit 3 or 4 short passes straight at opponents. Add to that Son who simply cannot keep the ball under pressure and Johnson, who loses the ball and watches players run away from him. We've been tumbled, our opponents have our measure, and the players know it. As for Ange his job is to adapt when the system or the players are not performing. Look at Bournemouth, six points after 10 games, compared to our 26. the guy was new to the Prem, he adapted and picked up points. No use in sticking to your guns if they don't fire.

His inability or total reluctance to take the ball to his right is frustrating. ange was pulling what little hair he has left out when Johnson flashed the ball across goal and Kulu hadn’t bust a gut to get to the back post. Not a fan if his and we need much better quality in our front three.
in this system the backpost thing is literally part of their f job. they should be reading the play and be there or arriving every time. it's not just him, and it's unforgiveable.

Get your point, but Ange's brief is more than just keeping the team up, like the Bournemouth manager's would have been. He's trying to build a completely new way of playing that will bear fruit in the future and win us trophies.
Saying that it does feel a bit like he's banging his head against a wall sometimes with his selections and tactics.

If we got a good offer I’d be willing to sell him. Go and get Johan Bakayoko for RW.

Indeed, I think this is also why we should keep Richarlison as a rotation player if we get Europa League.
Get two wingers and another Striker to go with Son, Richie and Johnson.
That's some good depth for all comps.

I like Kulu but it's becoming more and more awkward with him out wide.

Latest seems to be we are after a CF if Richy goes which i find a little concerning, should be in addition too.

Totally agree, he's fitted the system more times this season than other players, certainly more than Deki.
Injury to new striker and then what?
Son or unproven Veliz.

As someone said we have at least a dozen players to shed before we get to Deki. Until a couple of months ago he was our biggest chance creator and the guy who covered more ground than any other player per match. He is off form but he produced a couple of bits of magic against Liverpool eg our flowing end to end play which ended with Johnson tamely losing the ball. look at his skill at the beginning of that play (35th min). Look back at the Chelsea game, look at how their wingers destroyed our backs, while ours lost practically every contest. Without Deki in front of him Porro is totally exposed, because Johnson rarely tracks back.

I’d be very content with that. I can’t help but feel he goes to Liverpool for a rather large fee tho.

What about Raphinia?

Or the fact that he cuts in and shoots with his left a lot would clog up the space with Porro cutting in as well?

Is he the wrong profile for a wide player in our system?

The finances for him, i don’t see us paying his massive contract or what Barca would want. They need to raise as much money as possible despite that insane Nike kit deal they are supposedly about to make. He’s 27 now but his birthday is in December which means by December 2025 he will be 29. I reckon if he leaves they will try and push him to the Saudi league for top coin. And he might not want to leave at all if Xavi keeps playing him which means it might be another FDJ story.

Cant think of any club that will realistically come in for him. Italian clubs are skint, can't see one of them having say 30m+ same with Spanish & German clubs. So only chance would be a premier League club but with a number of clubs sailing close to PSR headroom it's difficult to see one that would want him and that he would actually go to.
Be surprised if we can sell him this summer as no way we'll sanction a sale for a paltry fee or endless loans like ndombele

Yep, can’t see us paying big money for guys around that age profile. Like the quality of Raphinia as the standard we’re running the ruler over, but Levy will always have a view of the age of any targets relative to their contract end dates.
