Reading about the 8 game Casilla ban, this could go very badly indeed for Dele.

This is all about how the game is presented abroad as the prem gets half its TV income there.
The product has to be spotless. The championship is held to the same standard.

Potentially what Dele did was far worse than Casilla.
He didn't make the video in the heat of the moment - he spent hours constructing it. A lot of thought went into it.
The absolute stupidity of the guy.

Plus AIA are projecting vitality and health - they want to sell life assurance to rich young Asians. They want to be linked with young fun athletes like Dele. But not if he is in any way thought to be mocking all asians as being sickly.
It a PR disaster.

So what is a suitable punishment? Well if he was a Chinese player, he'd be 6' underground now minus his organs.
But the Chinese are not unreasonable and appreciate there are cultural differences. If a state official is driving this and said we don't want to hear about him until next season - a 10 match ban, is that unreasonable? When hopefully the virus has died off a bit?

It all seemed so trivial, but Dele's whole future could pivot on how this turns out.

That escalated quickly... I think he's gonna get screwed over though. Its silly, niave and a bit ignorant so a game ban and an education course or something would be reasonable.

But wouldn't surprise me if it's at least 3 games though. Something mental just like they did with Poch after Mike Dean. Hopefully he just accepts it and they are more lenient.

FWIW My wife yesterday started on about this and it's all over her social media outlets (in China). many folk haven't been told that the video was taken down, nor that he said sorry a few days after the event.
From what I can see many people who did like us or some who didn't care for us- now they are united and against us!
I said in another post I hope I can still see the game tonight because when Arsanal had problems

I hate this season I hate it so much

Lucas Moura is playing like a 20 year old who you say to yourself give him time, he needs time to develop. His first touch is shit, his passing is woeful fucks every attack up, his movement isn’t good. Painfully average player can’t understand how he starts every game even with our injuries. Tired of watching him every game

And Dier is finished we knew that so why did Mourinho start him? Why did we sign Gedson (nothing against his signing) instead of a DM, the position we need to strengthen the most? Every game it takes one pass from the opponent to get past the midfield and then our defence isn’t good enough to stop most attacks.

Alli is such a frustrating player. His movement is world class but his finishing is so inconsistent and he takes so long with the ball, makes sloppy passes or try a unnecessary nutmeg. He’s not a kid anymore he needs to cut those things of his game now or he will never develop

We need a miracle for top 4 now, fuck this season man

So poor in front of goal, really has to work on his finishing ... Not as if they are hard chances either

Players can have poor games. I don´t "hate" Davies for being so average. On the contrary I honestly think he tries his absolute best - so even if that isn´t good enough I don´t feel any "anger" towards Davies. Rather I respect him for what he has gotten out of his talent. Alli on the other hand got quite a lot of ability, but he clearly isn´t maximising his potential. He has an engine to run more than most, but doesn´t. He has got good balance, but still just falls over. He is often in body position, but unlike for example Modric he never really uses it because it might hurt - easier to just fall over. He is a clever player off the ball, but he mostly uses that football intelligence to moan about his teammates.

I honestly believe we would have been better starting Fernandes today. As others have mentioned he should have been one of the players stepping up now, but instead he is close to nothing without Kane. It would be very sad if he longer term keeps Lo Celso for playing in his prefer position - he just isn´t good enough for that.

I am OK with players going through periodes where they might not be at their best. Maybe they are feeling a bit off due to off pitch things. Things that might influence your mental state. I can forgive that if the player can get himself back to the place he should be, but if Alli is to keep on like this, not accepting being substituted, moaning to teammates etc. - then please sell. Not that we would ever, but if there is a monster bid coming this summer I rather see us buying a couple of proper full backs than having this Alli hanging around.

did everything but score today. had a hand in both goals. FFS.

That really is poetic license!

“Did everything but score today” implies he put on a wonder show and the only thing that he didn’t do was score!

I am not a Dele hater, I often defend him, but he didn’t have a good game today.

Again, he showed some brilliant movement, but wasted the space he found. He never shows any urgency, and massively over complicates things.

Sounds obvious, but he should watch Messi. Besides his god given talent, Messi’s brilliance is how he keeps things so simple. He always uses the space he finds so well, and doesn’t over complicate things.

It seems Dele knows he has great ability and just wants to show it off rather than keep it simple and affect the game in a positive way.
