Painful rebuild. Far too many got far too comfortable towards the end of the Pochettino Era. Mauricio knew it and we couldn’t move quick enough. Mourinho rightly offered a blank slate but I think he’s rooting out some of the culprits now.

PSG would be an amazing move for him if he's up for it. Though I have to say he seemed really "at home" here in the Amazon doc so I imagine he may feel quite conflicted. Mourinho may well have said he's ok for him to leave if he wants to.

All those above saying Alii "need a kick up the arse" etc to get back to his best form, I personally disagree. Maybe that's part of it as Mourinho did point out his laziness in training, but I don't think it's because he doesn't care. I just think he has a very specific skillset that we managed to cater to for a while, but he just doesn't fit modern team shapes very well. When he was insanely effective we had an outrageously solid midfield two behind him, pace from son, and effectively a number 10 as well in Eriksen who was making us tick. And even then if I'm honest I think the reason we fell short of winning anything was a lack of pace in that front 4. If Eriksen was playing as a proper 10 behind Kane and we had another Son/Bale type I think we'd have been even better.

He plays as a second striker, and he does it incredibly well indeed. Play him there and build a team around him or don't bother. He's not a midfielder.

So Dele is our Pogba then.
A player Mourinho doesn't know how to use or manage, and used as a scapegoat to cover for his own mismanagement.

Wonder if Dele will do what Pogba did, decide to hang around expecting to last longer than the manager.

We shouldn’t sell him. But if we do we absolutely need to replace him with another quality creative midfielder. Bale is not Dele’s replacement Fabrizio..

That or Dele's thrown his toys out of the pram.

Or, as I expect could be closer to the truth, a bit of both.

Be a shame to see him go if he does. He hasn't been great by any means, but he can still pop up with a goal or assist out of nowhere. We need those players.

Mourinho tried to build a side around Dele, gave him confidence early on but lets be honest, Dele hasnt helped himself with his performances the last two years. When Bale is fit he would see himself even more out of the side and I dont think he is up for that, especially with the Euros on the horizon.

I wish we and him could turn this around but I fully understand we look to sell/loan. Just hope he is not replaced by Lingard...

I'd be on board with him going if it meant we'd bring in quality across CB, CM & CF.

But if that CM is Lingard I'll have a fit.

The worry is, if Dele does go we need a HG player in and that limits CM options

When you’ve got Sissoko, Lamela and Lucas in squad it makes no sense to move him on. We need to be improving the squad options not weakening them. If we move him on fine but move a couple of the others too so we have room to bring in a legitimate quality option. The backups are garbage right now.

I honestly worry about his welfare, I don't think he has the capacity to live and work abroad on his own.

He's not married and only learnt how to cook baked beans the other day.

I am serious.

Please don't sell him because of manager that should be gone soon anyway. He has a long-term contract and his stock is probably at the lowest point it'll reasonably go.
