Dele gets constant dogs abuse, but now there's rumours of him going people are saying they want him to stay and selling is a mistake.

What's for fucks sake in French?

If we are already in homegrown trouble with him how are we going to fill out a squad without him?

As much as I agree, I’d still be gutted if he left.
Yeah same. If you watch any compliations of Alli it's clear he's a massively talented footballer and has done some incredible stuff in a Spurs shirt. But equally we can't be too sentimental when it comes to the future of the club: if he's not improving, has a bad attitude and is holding us back then I think it's better that we move him on.

Just sign some cheap veterans and throw them on the bench. Or surely we have a couple in the youth ranks over 21 that we could "promote"

I do wonder if hawking him around Europe may be a shock tactic to pull Dele out of his comfort zone and get him snarling again, hungry for the battle on the pitch and not prancing around like he’s owed something. There is a great talent in there and it needs unlocking, if that happens elsewhere then so be it but if he turns it in again after realising he needs to pull his socks up and knuckle down then that’d be a real win.

He has been poor for two years. Only effective in limited formations which you have to build around him.

Shit attitude. Look no further than the doc when Jose told him he is a bad trainer and Dele laughed about it.

If we can sell to buy Dias I am all for it.

With our current personnel and tactics, can anyone explain where Dele should be playing and fitting in tactically? Even more so than any rumored attitude issues I think the fundamental problem is he doesn’t have a natural place or position.

He’s a luxury for us now. Considering the other positions we have to sort out, it makes sense to sell him and reinvest in other pressing priorities.

I don’t think there’s any case to be made that we wouldn’t benefit more from having Dias, Edouard, or Ings rather than Dele.

I love Dele and I would be sad to see him leave.

That said, he’s looked off the pace for the majority of the last two years now.

He’s been given ample opportunity to turn it around and doesn’t seem to be doing so. He’s a young player on a long contract so it makes sense we cash in while his value is high if we’re going to do so.

It might also finally hammer the point home to the likes of Dier and Winks that nobody is safe in this squad.

As Poch said, a painful rebuild is needed. Seeing Dele leave will be painful, but based on the last two years we’re better off trading him in and strengthening elsewhere.

Seemed like a self-depricating, respectful laugh to me. I thought he took it well.

I'm seriously OK with Dele leaving. We must stop the sentimentalism with him. For 2 years we are carrying him, cant live in the past forever. He wasted chance after chance to find his game, and for all we know he is horrible in training also. If he leaving means a good CB arriving, or a good attack minded midfielder, than i'm all in

Disagree. Imagine if your boss told you that you aren’t working hard enough at the job and you laughed.

Somebody who is driven and wanting to improve would ask questions about what they can do better, take the situation seriously and push on.

Very much agree with this. Especially the message that it doesn't matter who you are if you are not showing up in training or on a Thursday night in some obscure corner of Europe.

My hope is its a loan with a view to him rediscovering his previously self.

Painful rebuild. Far too many got far too comfortable towards the end of the Pochettino Era. Mauricio knew it and we couldn’t move quick enough. Mourinho rightly offered a blank slate but I think he’s rooting out some of the culprits now.
Yep one of the best things about Jose coming in is he’s pragmatic and ruthless and basically the perfect manager for a rebuild. Some players will suffer from it but ultimately we will be better off for it.

Rose out was a key and obvious one due to his disruptive nature.
It was only one game but on today’s evidence and as people have said time and time again before Dele slows our play down so for me I’d much rather we play 4-3-3 as that suits our players and suits how Jose likes his teams to play.

Love Dele and think if you get him service and he has the right attitude then hes A once in a generation talent but it could well be that selling him if for the greater good of the squad.

Good, bad or indifferent..... attitude is ABSOLUTELY everything in what we do.

Jose sniffed this out immediately and asked Dele to.prove him wrong... where there's smoke, there's fire

If we need to raise cash for a ST/CB, etc

Out of interest, would people rather sell Dele or Tanguy?
