It's almost as though he just needed a run of games to get over the health issues he had all last season... (This is not a dig at you BTW, but it is definitely a dig at a number of people).

Maybe so, but Christ what a fantastic last ditch block inside the area to save a certain goal. That was the Eric Dier of old. Personally, I'd leave him at the centre of defence where he prefers to play and leave Toby on the bench. His defending has really been worrying me lately.

Far from it, Dier’s actions were grossly disproportionate with the incident involving the fan and his brother. He’s gone way over the top and should and most likely will be punished for his actions.
Actions ? what taking his brother away from an incident ?

Nice to see dier of old. Always liked him and thought he would be a future captain for us.
Keep him at cb.

Anyone hear the Burnley fans singing "Eric Dier... your brother's a twat" ?
I thought that was pretty funny myself.

Great to see him finding his legs and some form again, certainly a decent player in there somewhere has just struggled with illness, injuries and confidence.

There's nothing to suggest he'll be banned for a long time. We'll just have to wait and see what the punishment is. The Mirror are just guessing.

Threatening behaviour is all I could see from the original clip of him climbing up the stand.

What criminal charges would they have been? Did he break a seat with his foot on his way to shout at someone?
We'll never know for sure considering they decided against it. If I were to hazard a guess it would be a Section 4 public order offence.

((1)A person is guilty of an offence if he—

(a)uses towards another person threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, or

(b)distributes or displays to another person any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting,

with intent to cause that person to believe that immediate unlawful violence will be used against him or another by any person, or to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence by that person or another, or whereby that person is likely to believe that such violence will be used or it is likely that such violence will be provoked.)

It would be really clutching at straws for any of that so to say he narrowly avoided criminal charges is a bit of an overstatement. They investigated (likely for 5 mins) because it was on tv and trending on twitter but nothing was ever likely to come from it.

😂 threatening. It’s only threatening because Dier is crew cut and 6ft3 and built. Anybody reckon the same charge would’ve been given to Winks or Lucas if they’d been hurdling up the stand?
