Why would he be homegrown?
He’s 17, HG quotas don’t apply to him until he’s 21.
And when he’s 21 he will be considered home grown.

But due to not having been with us for 2 years or more, he will have to be registered (in UEFA competitions) in the 25 man A list (ie as a senior player) and then the home grown rules apply
He is Spurs player since 2017, it's 2 years. Don't think he will have to be registered.
Rooney 16 years old
And by 30 he was a burnt out shell of a player
I think someone like Malcolm would be goodWould prefer it if we could sign another wing forward along the lines of Son and Moura so at least they would get some playing time for the money spent.
A decade and a half not enough?
Besides, Milner started at 16 and still seems to have a bit in the tank at almost 34.

Based on context of the discussion it's not necessarily the best for a 17 y/o to have to be a teams main striker.
Let's face it Kane will be injured this season. He has weak ankles and he is going to be out for two periods totaling three months.
Just because Troy can do it at 17 doesn't mean we should ask him to. Fernando should be here for another year. Troy may be the first choice to fill in but he should not be the only choice.
Llorente also offers a plan B. He might not often scores but his knock-ons cause chaos... and in Moura and Son we have players to get on the end of those knock-ons.
Fair play mind.Well, I think that has much to do with their off-field lifestyles.
Milner is a legendarily hard worker and apparently absolutely crushes everyone at Liverpool in the summer fitness tests. Rooney seemed to spend his summers crushing pints and slags.
Thing is its not to have him as back up, it's to have his as our back up back up - or maybe even or back up back up back up. Kane, then Son, then Moura would be our 3 initial choice strikers, followed then by Parrott, in my opinion.People suggesting Parrott as a back-up, he does look like a wonderful talent, but his only 17, surely thats too much to expect at such a early stage of his career, his never even played a competitive senior mens football match. Experience is crucial in champions league etc, as Nando showed.
no thanksWhat about Daniel Sturridge on a free transfer for a back up striker

I have no idea what kind of a personality Llorente has but I'd assume that having Llorente around could also be for the cliche thing of experience in the dressing room of someone who's pretty much done it all and been playing at the highest level for a while. Think his experience could be helpful for a guy like Parrott and yes, Kane would also be experience but would it hurt to have another pro as a kind of mentor?
